I mainly use my Defender to tow my caravan. When out and about on sites and surrounding countryside I see loads of Defenders parked up, but I have never yet seen one with any visible form of mechanical security fitted.
Low ash 2-stroke is all you need. It also protects everything in the fuel lines and injectors. I don't measure accurately, but around 300ml every fill up even if just a top up. Only use mineral oil 2-stroke, not synthetic. Comma is your best bet since it's a green colour and not red like...
Why do they put in that mix of hex and 12-point sockets? Hex always give better torque and minimum risk of rounding. I would have thought that was important for landy work;) and the only bolts that need 12 point are on the brakes.
My 15p engine cylinder head became porous at 53,000 miles. Solution - AMC head, but it's in a very low mileage 2005 Defender, so clearly worth the expense.
Every report on the BBC always states the NOx pollution is caused by diesel cars, with no mention of trucks, vans, buses and taxis. So cars will be banned from city exclusion zones, but all these other vehicles will be allowed to continue as normal.
Have adequate agreed value cover on mine, so I don't worry about it being stolen from my drive, but I use it to tow our caravan and I am constantly worried that it gets stolen when on holiday, with the consequent bother of getting the caravan home. If stolen I wouldn't replace it.
Not really sure what traction control does, but my Defender 90 2005 TD5 will travel at a constant speed in 1st or 2nd without touching the accelerator and without stalling. It doesn't have ABS so I presume there is no official traction control fitted?
Phosphoric acid at 25-30% is the best stuff to use for rusty metal. It dissolves the rust and passivates the surface ready for painting. It is far superior to all those fancy rust treatments that are sold at vast cost.
If they had fitted discos and defenders with galvanised chassis they would have lasted almost forever, which is something no volume car manufacturer wants.
So basically the car doesn't exist for sale and the fraud is to obtain some form of payment outside of ebay and paypal. The trouble with these classified ads is that there is no auction number to report the abuse to Ebay.
I'm not saying this is stolen but at £6700 fixed ad price, what is wrong with it?
