As @Landmark2 says it's for the outside temp only (when you press the EXT button on the ATC unit) but with the sensor disconnected the 'air con' fan comes on when you use the a/c just like it does in other vehicle & as far as I understand it, it reduces the pressure in a/c when used like it...

Hi,wonder if the smaller hole helps with higher oil pressure? Not sure I could find enough time for all the great work you get through, I've struggled the last few days just doing an engine service/air con rad & a few tweeters on the D2 (although I do like to clean everything), all the best.

If you're going to replace just the ball joint be careful there are two different sizes, whole arms are pretty cheap.

I couldn't tell you which would be better as they've never worked but it's certainly nice to hear the highs from those tweeters. My FL1 has the HK system & has always sounded great. The HK one as you can see is marked 4ohms, not sure about the Philips.

Hi & welcome, the round plastic thing with TOP written on it is the engine/crankcase breather & they all do that sir :) (mist a bit of oil that is). Give it a clean & see how long it takes to 'mist' up again or just replace it & see if it stops.

Hi, yeah the air con fan (if you look in Rave it calls it the engine cooling fan). If you disconnect the outside air temp. sensor, (@sierrafery recommendation) it brings that fan on whenever you operate the air con otherwise that fan won't cut in until the outside air temp. hits 35 degrees...

I've tried swapping relay R4 for R5 (cooling fan & screen wash respectively) but still the same so my faulty relay theory goes out the window :(.

Been fitting a new condensing rad to the D2. Bracket bent slightly (easily straightend) out of the box which is a big improvement over the one Autodoc originally sent me as the whole rad. was curved (like a bike one) + the drier pipe was pushed into the core, only took them about 3 months to...

As well as the manifold I would remove the intercooler & flush that along with all the pipes & hoses with it. If it hasn't been done you'll be surprised, along with the manifold, how much oil/sludge builds up in the 'system' helping it smoke,all the best.

Hi Stan, I tried the 10x1.25 & pitch interlocks with the kit tap the 10mm is to big ! Using a pitch gauge the thread measures 20 TPI. Measuring the kit tap is awkward as it only has 3 flutes (all mine are 4 fluted) but it's about 9.5ish mm. So I think I'll grind a bit off the taper of the kit...
