You could try unplugging it and running the vehicle. If the problem seems cured/better with it unplugged then you have the answer. The fuel consumption will be horendous with the MAF unplugged

MAF does not show up as a fault on garage diagnostics. Easiest way to diagnose it is if you can get hold of a good MAF and swap the part over.

The CTS is a common problem on these vehicles. Rather than waste time on it you would be better to pop a new one in. They are not expensive
