p38 4 0 loss of power at 70mph + on motorway any ideas

You could try unplugging it and running the vehicle. If the problem seems cured/better with it unplugged then you have the answer. The fuel consumption will be horendous with the MAF unplugged

Friends, there IS life after EAS !

I bought 4 new airbags for mine and fitted them 2 weeks ago, went to Fort William last weekend and on Monday it was on the bump stops. Yes I would have liked to keep it on air but at the end of the day reliabillity is my top priority Anyone want to buy 4 brand new airbags from my 94 LSE? They...

Friends, there IS life after EAS !

I fitted a set of springs to my 94 LSE last week and I have to say I am very happy with them. There is very little difference in the ride quality and where reliabillity and piece of mind are of importance, it is well worth the conversion The beauty of this set up is I won't ever have to drive...

P38 4.6 Petrol: Mass Airflow meter. What symptoms?

MAF does not show up as a fault on garage diagnostics. Easiest way to diagnose it is if you can get hold of a good MAF and swap the part over.

    Classic Coolant Sensor

Sounds a bit like my 94 LSE. I ordered top & bottom hose and alternator belt from LR dealership and they gave me the wrong ones..."Oh it must be a 93 model then" Also lots of electrical problems that I have worked my way through, now all electrics are working.....touch wood!!!! Renewing the...

    Classic Coolant Sensor

The CTS is a common problem on these vehicles. Rather than waste time on it you would be better to pop a new one in. They are not expensive

    V8 oil pressure @ idle

Just found another mention of oil pressure in the same WSM for the 4.2 which mentions 30-40 lb/sq in at 2400 rpm, so I would think anything between 25-40 should be good. Sometimes the aftermarket gauges are not that accurate, it might be worth going to your local corner garage and asking them...

Freaky electric mirrors on my classic

Might be worth checking the wires at the ECU as they can sometimes work loose

    V8 oil pressure @ idle

Reading the WSM for the 4.2 classic the oil pressure should be 25 lb/sq in, or in new money 1.76 kg/sq cm at a steady engine speed of 2400 rpm. I would expect the 4.6 to be a similar reading

    Classic battery advice please!

I have been using the CTEK for a few years now on a 60 year old car that only gets used in the summer. It keeps the battery in tip top condition and I never have to worry about it being flat. I also have a second unit I use to keep spare batteries topped up. The battery does not have to be...

    Classic battery advice please!

How about something like the C-Tek battery conditioner. It has an anti-spike so it won't harm any ECUs and is waterproof so you won't electrocute your neighbours dog when he lifts his leg on your Rangie CTEK battery conditioner

Is my P38 pre-wired for towbar electrics?

    Would a 94 LSE also be pre-wired?

    P38 Coil Spring Retro Fit.

I have a Mercedes with air suspension and it was giving me problems. A new compressor for it was almost 1k plus all the other related bits and as Merc only give a 12 month warranty I opted to go to springs when the second compressor packed in. I have to say that it has not made the slightest...
