Are these values of any use...

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

I've rebuilt my compressor but the bugger will be needing a new one at the rate its going up & down...

Feynerial, does your take an age to drop down to its lowest height too, if at all? If I put the kicker in sometimes it behaves itself for a few seconds and I can adjust the height sometimes. But that doesn't last long before the switch completely lights up and the dash reads an EAS fault.

That's EXACTLY what mine says and does.

    Nanocom Evolution by Blackbox apparently.

I'll find out. It's actually my brothers diagnostic tool.

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

More often than not the up down switch lights operate for a few second without incident and the car will be roughly at the right height then all the lights on the switch come on and an EAS fault is read out on the dashboard (along with an airbag fault which is new)

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

Ah! Is that a fact. That's interesting. So would the diagnostic still register the sensor out of range if it was a bad connection the height switch? That would be so much simpler...

Ah yes I have a DMM. What an idiot I am for not realising that, haha. Well like I say, DM me if you would like futher details. They £3000-£3500 a piece so they're not cheap mind you.

Thanks Lads, BTW! All your input is fantastic. I hope it's helpful to each other too!

Ooow. Where do you get those and what's it's full name?

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

Well these aren't mine I have to say. They belong to a friend of mine who builds them for people. I can give him your details if you want one 😉. I build my own too to high standards as per the original but my workshop is in the works lol.

Did you take any pictures. Where do the wires go. Under the carpet?

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

Haha my suspension goes up and down and the EAS is beeping away at me all the time on the dash...

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

Sorry I said CPU instead of ECU. My bad. So I'll just have to follow the cables back until I find the right ones...
  17. UnitLandy

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

Well I'll do that anyway. So where do the height sensor cables come in. I've replaced all the sensors but the diagnostic still says the front left is out of range. I've replaced the CPU and relay with no difference. All I can think is its the physical wires themselves to the actual sensor.

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

Thanks chaps. I'm an idiot so would someone explan which side of the white connector I'm supposed to replace the wires and how far. Also where do the internal sensor wires come from outside through the bodywork and into the footwell. I'm hopeless with electrical diagrams I'm afraid but I'm great...

    P38A Height Sensor replacement

Just to revive this thread, I've been having height ride sensor issues for years now and have been tackling every part of the air suspension system to no avail. The last place to be tackled is the wiring to the sensors. A the height sensors are new underside but I now believe there's a wiring...

    P38 shock absorber Front/Back?

So the part no. Is STC3672 for the front shock absorbers and i happen to have a spare set & they do look to be longer. I hope the manufacturer got them right! You can see where the metal tube starts to taper towards the plastic cover. I don't think you can see the metal taper on the shorter...
