Because these ones are cheap and easy. Proper spacers are made using high grade metal, are held on with nuts and have 5 new studs for the wheels but will set the wheels out 10 or 15mm.

I had 5mm spacers for the same issue but wasn't happy with them and replaced the rims. With the way tyre fitters and mechanics hammer in the wheel nuts you need every mm of thread to keep you and your family safe. The other issue with spacers is it means the centre hub is not seated correctly so...

K Series are great engines but are known to eat head-gaskets. Anything over 50k miles (80k km) and you are on borrowed time but many will fail before that. How many kilometres are on the car now? If the head-gasket was replaced at 60k, what make of gasket was used? Did the head need skimmed...

Yes mate, I only noticed it after replacing the module and was looking for a cracked track. As I said I can't complain too much as I chose to go with cheap Chinese components knowing the chances of failure were there.

In fairness most of the issues in this entire process were caused by me not knowing what I needed the software to do and it took a while to figure out the hardware requirements too. I still haven't tested it at a public charger so I guess that is next.
