What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

I don’t know the brand, they were given to me by a friend. They all seem to look fairly similar. The pics aren’t very exciting, can’t really see anything too different, perhaps this is why I wasn’t really tempted before. Big difference actually using them though.

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Put some seat risers/rails on yesterday, should have done it years ago! Massive difference if you’re not a short arsė!

    Lock Issues in the cold

Build a garage? That’s old Landies for you! Cover the mechanisms in a healthy layer of silicone oil/graphite oil/lithium grease/whatever you fancy!

Intermittent (horrible word) TD5 loss of power.

If fuel can get out, air can get in and produce the symptoms you describe. Definitely worth fixing the leak first.

Turn signal stalk rudely decided not to work this morning!

You know yours will fail the moment you sell it!

    Rear door check strap

I’ve not noticed any bending, maybe they hadn’t installed it quite right. I don’t have a spare wheel on, which probably helps.

S’wot I would do before taking the column apart. Useful to have as a spare even if it’s not the issue.

Don’t discount the hazard switch, the indicators run through it and they are notorious for failing.

Looking at a Defender 90 200TDi this weekend...

It’s not a bad Landy at all, but I think the general consensus is it should be priced cheaper or you can get a really nice one for £15k.

Sounds like it has a galvanised chassis, still too much dosh, in my opinion.

    Rear door check strap

Fair consideration, I added a thick piece of aluminium to the other side of where the bolts mount (not seen, of course) to strengthen.

Ahh, missed that bit. Still not a ‘fender though (although we all know it basically is)!

Can’t answer your question, but have you considered ‘upgrading’ to a gas strut? I did when I refurbed the rear end - should have bought one years ago! No more door closing when parked on a hill or when the wind catches it!

Indeed (although older engines were still optional), op’s is a transplanted 200 (probably from a Disco).

You seem to know what you’re talking about and what to look for. I have to agree with a couple of the others and suggest that the asking price is too much. The market has definitely cooled down. It’s a 35 year-old Landy that’s been gentrified to make it more modern-looking, so you’re neither...

    Tail light mystery

I’ve got the same setup and it works fine with no special modifications needed. As Dippy has said, check and clean all earth points, replace screws/nuts/cable if necessary.

Hydro-****ed - what happens when you drive through the Spey in spate

The push rod + valve is weaker than the con rod, in a non-interference engine they will give up first.
