My belief is you have to tax the vehicle to get a tax class switch to historic.

If your V5 has on the front of it near the bottom, vehicle declared date of manufacture #### then this can make things completely different.

The taxation class would read historic, if it was historic. It will always need a road fund license (road tax) to be driven on the road legally. It may cost nothing, but it is still needed.

I have never seen or fitted a battery isolator onto a positive battery cable. They should only go onto the negative cable. If you fit on a positive there is an increased risk of shorts with bare connectors.

Try cleaning the threads that are showing. I use a dremel thing with a little wire brush on it. The better you can clean the threads the easier it will come apart. In general I find that penetrating oil just makes it easier to start with, but rust on the threads will still make it bind up.
