    EAS over heat and cure

I like it. Mines also not thrown a fit since I drilled holes in the box 6 months ago. How much room is there between the top of the box and the bonnet insulation? Steve

    towing

Many years ago when I used to work in a pub there were a few blokes there who used to own a garage. One day they came in looking like death warmed up-it transpired that they had gone to collect a Vauxhall Cavalier. To collect the Cavalier they had used another Cavalier towing a four wheel car...

    EAS over heat and cure

Same as me. I drilled holes months ago in my box to dissipate the heat. Not a problem since-even when towing the tin tent in the heat of this summer. Steve

Latest on EAS drilling the box

I drilled quite a few holes in the cover directly in front of the compressor as well. As long as the compressor filter is changed regularly there should not be a problem. There must be a tremendous amount of heat build up in the EAS box-the only standard ventilation are the couple of slots in...

Latest on EAS drilling the box

Hello all, Some of you may remember I had a fault with my EAS-basically after driving for around an hour it would go into fault mode-( when code read it was to do with the pressure switch attached to the driver unit-pressure switch reading issues). Before I went away at Whitsun I drilled quite a...

    Which side gearbox oil filler/checker

Cheers Keith. Will have a go on the weekend. Finally found where my windscreen is leaking as well (only took me nearly 7 years!). Looking at keeping it for a few more years so getting around to the jobs I should have done over the years. Thanks Steve

    Which side gearbox oil filler/checker

Evening all, Going to check the gearbox oil on my 99 4.6HSE. Is the filler/level bolt on the passenger or drivers side? Cheers Steve

    Leaving EAS cover off.

Yep got to be careful- I change the filter every year. Steve

    Leaving EAS cover off.

Yep-my suspicion is the driver pack getting too hot and triggering a fault. I've a spare driver pack but will not bother changing for now. The EAS box itself is not very well ventilated at all-theres a slit in the side and thats mainly it. I used an auger bit to put a few holes in the top of...

    Leaving EAS cover off.

Update! Did not leave the cover off but did drill quite a few 18mm holes strategically in the cover. I also cleaned all plugs using contact cleaner. Towed the tintent for over 2.5 hours twice without a problem. Last time I towed it faulted every hour. So fingers crossed. Steve

    Leaving EAS cover off.

Thanks all, I've got a spare driver pack and will change it eventually if the problem persists. I'll try the cover off as looking at it the EAS gubbins does nor receive any cooling air-the box doesn't have many holes. Does the driver pack contain a pile of MOSFETs and associated bits? Regards...

    Leaving EAS cover off.

Morning all, Have had an intermittent fault with my EAS for about a year. After driving for well over an hour it throws up an error. The fault was 2 "pressure signal constantly high". Being me and not having the fault for over 6 months I didn't bother having a look until the weekend (towing the...

    Air pressure sensor-where is it?

Found it under the valve block. Will leave it for now and see how it goes next week whilst towing the tin tent. Has only faulted once since last August and that was on a long trip. It was "pressure signal constantly high".Took most of the connectors apart in the EAS tray and sprayed...

    Air pressure sensor-where is it?

Morning all, Trying to change the pressure sensor (the green thing) attached to the driver unit in the air suspension box. Taken out the pump but cannot see the sensor-can see its two red wires running away somewhere. Any ideas how to get to it? Regrds Steve
