Other thing is to check the rave to see if there's any notes on power supply... Is it also worth checking the ground to make sure it's getting a good solid connection? Vibration of gearbox could be affecting it?

In those systems the reversing cam is often activated by connecting a wire to the reversing lights. If you've connected it, or it's touching anything else that's live, it might be confusing the system. I did an upgrade on my pre-facelift model and not had any problems so far
