    Diagnostic tool for Freelander 1

In the old days, it used to be the ignition switch. But that cut everything, so dash/radio etc would go out as well. Haven't heard of it happening for a while.

Freelander 1 Starts, runs for a few seconds and then stalls

I recon you have a couple of issues. 1) I recon your injectors are leaking fuel into the cylinders overnight. 2) Your apostrophe key is broke.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Middle of summer here and its the same temp as you've got! Snow reported yesterday around the country to. In the build up to XMas we were all complaining it was to hot and dry, scrub fires sparking up... and we were all preying for some rain. Well we got it, and it ain't gone away! FFS.

Shame the bonnet obscured the dash cam footage of it :D Well done on getting the MOT.

Freelander 2 (LR2) Freelander 2 fuel pump relay location

Why would a throttle body's gears being stripped cut the engine? As I see it, the main purpose of the throttle body is to close thus starving the engine of air/oxygen and thus shutting down quickly rather than spluttering to a close when turning off. If the engine was running, this implies the...

What have you done to your Freelander today

This thread is so confusing. Are you now saying it is a 1.8 petrol? But after March 06 it would be a diesel? But they stopped making them in 2000, so it could never be an L. Total madness.

Freelander 2 (LR2) Freelander 2 fuel pump relay location

As its not broken, or at least it looks like its not causing your problem, you don't really need to find it.

    Tailgate not opening

That is really frustrating on my F2. Its a pain in the bum. And may explain why the tailgate will not open at times for no particular reason. Its NZ new. Not some South African import with onboard self defence systems to stop carjacking at the traffic lights.

Freelander 2 (LR2) Freelander 2 fuel pump relay location

I'm not sure if the F2 wiring diagrams are on here, but this is a link to them... https://www.freel2.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10793/L359-09MY_JOB1_CIRCUITS_LHD.pdf On page 25 you will see that fuel pump takes power from fuse FS22 and Fuel Pump Relay R103 both in the passenger compartment...

What have you done to your Freelander today

No Ali, you must have it wrong, they never fail. ;) They guy who did the warrant (MOT) on mine told me mine needed replacement for next one. He recons its why the motor clatters as it goes over bumps. He's got to be wrong too, I'm sure I must have just left a bunch of spanners somewhere under...

At least you know its a proper Land Rover, with, erm, character

    Tailgate not opening

That doesn't sound like a fault. Sounds more like something that is configurable by the dealer.

    Freelander 1 Preserving the scarce ! FL1

I've still not forgiven myself for selling my Vitesse convertible for £50 because that's how much I owed the council for the garage I stored it in.

    Freelander 1 Td4 electrical issues

Oh dear, that's a lot of wires damaged. As for fixing it, first thing I'd do is get a cat.

    Freelander 1 Td4 electrical issues

I don't know how expensive they are or how complex it is to change, but might be worth swapping out the instrument cluster. Pretty sure you would need to be careful on what model year the car came from. I presume it could be no earlier than a MY01 when the TD4 was introduced and could not be...

    Freelander 1 Td4 electrical issues

On my early car, I'm pretty sure the Amigo lights are wired straight to the ABS ECU. So even if what ever controls the rest of the dials and lamps fail, if the ABS ECU is alive, those lights will work. I know the later dash displays are more network message related than individual wires. Not...

    Freelander 1 Preserving the scarce ! FL1

Thought I'd have a look at the link. Great project for someone, as said, quite rare these days. But I don't go onto MarketPlace that often, and when I do, I always have a look at what Freelanders (if any) and Triumphs are for sale here. There was 1 F1 and a few Triumphs including this...
