From memory- I put an earth from the battery to one of the starter motor mounting bolts and another one from there to the inner wing mounting bolt.
I'm not keen on only earthing through the gearbox, as aluminiumium is not as conductive as steel.
I would buy an earth lead (just a generic one from halfords/local motor factor) and put it from the battery to chassis, as a lot of the electrics earth through the bulkhead/chassis.
Anything less than 12.3v is a flat battery.
This flat battery has been pointed out, but sadly completely ignored by @Joshk5000.
The battery maybe new to you, but I would suggest it's fooked.
Who remembers Rashe/Rache or what ever he was called and his class action against Landrover because his Freelander wasn't 4wd?
Oh the fun we had there!
I'm getting similar vibes here.
Ok.
Dunno what swearing or personal insults, because they int there no more.
P.S. twice in about 10 years and you're getting bored of reminding me?
Pfffft.
If the DPF is too blocked from the OP doing 5 mile school runs in his pyjamas for a fortnight, then runs at 50mph won't regen it.
It will need a forced regeneration.
And a change of vehicle more suited to his use.
Like a petrol Nissan Micra.
100 results out of 154,955 members is negligible.
Google found two results? Gosh.
I'm not trying to prove anything. You are.
I'm not sensitive about this topic. You are.
I don't wish to visit your website. Spamming twunt.
DPF issues are usually down to how they are driven.
No.
Have you done a search on the forum, to see if anyone else has had this issue?
If there are no other threads on your issue, then I suggest it's just you.
The multiple class action lawsuits is just you, isn't it.
Have you had any problem with freelanders not having permanent 4wd?
No, its a metal outer.
I have in the past cut a slit and twisted it over the ball (remove the spring behind the seal lip first, it will stretch over the ball) as a quick bodge.
Remember to put the slit to the top of the housing.
Clean them, soak with ATF/acetone mix for a few hours- much longer if possible with repeat soaking.
Tight fitting ring-spanner and tighten the bolt first, then try undoing.
Those that don't undo, cut off the heads.
