Freelander 1 Positive Feedback - JLR Parts UK Ltd.

Hi I just ordered a key fob from JLR Parts UK Ltd https://www.ebay.com/str/jlrgenuineparts They replied, I sent them my VIN and they got straight back with, I didnt ask them to confirm, they did it on their own initiative I think that's great

I have been thinking (about how to avoid any work) and maybe in this sandy dry climate (rain in winter but still very fast draining sand) the slots are an intentional thing? I've already had an offer to swap this one for a normal one Perhaps it stops the inevitable sand that gets in from forming...

It's not this is it? I had to take them 4 black plastic air inlet thingies off when I changed my oil/water heat exchanger thingy. They were clogged up with black carbon/oil crud as were the air entrances to the engine shown below. Cleaned them out with a screwdriver and paraffin and a wet...

Great minds, I was just posting to say i thought of putting some rubber flooring material over it and using it! I also thought that it feels heavy at 18 kg (the whole thing, frame and Franky bits), but how heavy is a nornal standard one, anyway? Does anyone know, please?

Thanks, of course, DOH! I will do that I reckon When you say remove the steel, do you mean remove the plastic? I thought the middle black bit was plastic?

OK, so I have been given an opportunity to just swap that Frankensumpguard for a standard one I have been told that the guards were different between engined models (mine is td4) , but they will fit on different models This is appealing to my lazy easiest path side I am only likely to go...

wouldnt they have been horrendously heavy, 1 sqm 8 mm steel weighs 60 kg, I'd worry about the mountings bolts /threads and it would be like driving with someone sitting on the bonnet

Well, in the end, I got him down to €100 which is around 80 quid and I will make up a new bit to replace the centre drainage grill bit since I couldnt find another one around her that didnt need to be shipped in. Not sure whether to make a GRP one or an Ally one. I have Glass at work, but not...

Hi, Happy Xmas! My thermostat is not working and I want to do the 'hack' of putting the thermostat in the top hose or wherever I am in UK for Chrimbo until 27th and would like to get one (bugger I forgot to do this earlier!) Can anyone please tell me what the part number or something to search...

He replied with the weight, it was 18 kg But if people are using sheets of 4 mm steel, I guess weight isnt an option Tbh I only thought of the extra stress on the mountings, as its not much compared to the car weight I'd like to have a go at a GRP version, onto the Ally frame bit (when I get...

I would, if there was one on mine actually I'm going back to plan A - I know someone with the Ally bits and I will most probly laminate something up or get a bit of plate and make the missing placcy bit

Thanks! I'll leave that then Are they different between different engined FL1 pre-face lift? And are the pre and post face lifts the same? Everything is so cheap in the UK :(
