P38A Battery Cable loose in Clamp

Diameter or AWG is what the suppliers use. 25sqmm seems to be between 2 & 3 AWG, so I wonder if these will do the job ? Opinions welcome !! Option 1 Option 2

+1 on that. Marty experimented creating a replacement EAS driver pack using modern solenoid hit-drop driver chips, etc. It worked, but did suffer gremlins & glitches. The plan was good, but if I remember he was too busy to complete the project.

Eas system holds air then drops after driving and turn off

Before, but wait for the solenoids to stop ticking after you get out of the car.

P38A Battery Cable loose in Clamp

BTW, anyone know the standard battery cable size on 1998 V8 P38 ??

P38A Battery Cable loose in Clamp

This is what I have found: For the cable crimps, I have a hydraulic crimp tool, but need to get some crimps large enough for the cables. If I go this route will also do the salt & vinegar copper cleaning & probably solder the ends as well. Also have a pair of these, but need larger...

P38A Battery Cable loose in Clamp

So last night while driving to Fleet, my Green P38 completely cut out a few times, although only for a second or two. All electrics dies, but came back, so I thought fusebox again ?? Luckily it recovered each time, so continued on & got it home without requiring recovery. Chekc all the...

    Air to Springs

    I'm unwatching this thread . . . . . at least until the EAS is re-instated !!

    Air to Springs

Enjoy your springs then, BUT where are you ?? There's plenty of us that would happliy use the EAS stuff you get removed.

    EAS KICKER LITE for p38

I thought the "Clear All" button was just the clear the values preveiosly read ?? The "Unlock EAS" is for clearing faults.

    Air to Springs

The P38 EAS is not OBDII compliant, so that scanner is unlikely to work. Put your town name in your forum profile - there might be peeps nearby with proper P38 diagnostics & experience fixing it.

    P38A Clips

Can't remember how many either, but yes I will probably need 20. Let us know how your guinea pig does !! LR Cat shows either 11 or 14 clips for lower trim depending on VIN.

P38A EAS Random Extended Mode Selection

Keith, Yes will def go for high temp one. I'm gonna try putting it on the power feed close to the pack first & see if that helps. Might even do the old thing of putting a 100nF ceramic in parallel with the electrolytic. I have another pack that is about 80% de-potted but cannot get the...

    P38A Clips

You probably need to do a decent production run. There are many on here that would buy some, me included. . . . . how much for a pack of 10 ?

P38A EAS Random Extended Mode Selection

No potholes. It randomly does it when stationary as well. On Thurs it was fine to Milton Keynes & back. On Saturday drive up to Eldesborough was ok, but then it did it about 6-7 times on the evening return ? Next job is to replace the capacitor on the driver pack.

    P38A Win 11 and Rave ISO's

Who told you that ?? It's still available & windoze 11 compatible according to Adobe.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Definitely will give it a try, probably across the power wires close to the pack. Still have not managed to fully de-pot one of my spare driver packs & get the PCB out.

    P38A Win 11 and Rave ISO's

aah yes that makes sense. The version with TSB's is useful as well but is also Windoze only. I have shortcuts to all three on my Win10 laptop. Can't find my Microcat copy, but I'm sure it will surface one day.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Yes it does. During the drive I had Nanocom connected so I could see the sensor readings which were all about right. Also did a recording which I'm gonna check later. Sensor(s) out of range should show as a fault. But as there's no direct monitoring of the driver pack output, the ECU...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Drove my Green P38 up to Edlesborough yesterday. Worked perfectly all the way there. Then in the evening the EAS repeatedly did the random high mode again. Managed to catch it & lower again before it faulted. Put Nanocom on it, but no faults. Wondering if the driver pack or connectors...
