So it's a nice day outside and unbelievably I got a next day delivery of a complete regulator. I've lubed the rails, dropped the glass into the glass clamps and then went to actuate. Up? Slow and laboured. Down, weight of glass aids what is a nice smooth operation. I'll lube the rails again...

Unless the ECU has the capacity to derate the fuel pump, then the pump has no fault and the ECU is limping the engine. That is a guess on my part though. I am not yet sufficiently experienced with FL1 ECU interactions.

@andyfreelandy - I'm in read, read, read mode to get to know what to expect with my TD4 acquisition. I think the ECU can see the difference if it is similar to BMW diesels. I had a similar problem with a 2003 5 series diesel a long time ago. Horrid pressure leaks were where my problems lay...
