    Disco 2 Whistling Discovery?

Thank you for the ideas guys, but this only happens when the car is moving at above 50mph regardless of revs. It is not replicatable at rest or just revving the engine. Therefore I am assuming it is air pressure on the front of the car. Can anyone advise where the air enters the heater/ac...

    Disco 2 Whistling Discovery?

This is just about driving me crazy. At 50mph or thereabouts an annoying whistle starts (800Hz), very audible in the cab. It has just started, after doing nothing on the car and is NOT effected by any of the following: 1. Heater controls. 2. Sun roofs 3. Windows 4. Wipers. 5. Wing mirrors Now...

    Dehumidifiers

I really only run it in the winter. I have a remote humidity meter here in the house office and the garage sort of keep in line with the house here. But I will take you advise and up it to 60% when I start using it again. incidentally the garage is a new build with double wall and Thermolites on...

    Brake flaring tool

I am fed up having to pay the garage for new brake pipes and wish to purchase a reasonable brake flaring tool. Can anyone point me in the right direction or recommend one they are using. There seems to be a lot of Chinese crap out there as usual. Thanks in anticipation Steve

    Dehumidifiers

I bought a Meaco Zambezi DD8L in the end. Completely automatic, drains to sink and does the job. But watch your electricity bill, these things dont do anything for free. Keeps the garage at a constant 55% humidity for me and all my tools are rust free.

    Car Wash Brushes

It was the right thing to do. The brush is excellent and has been in use 18 months now. A pleasure to use and does the LR very well. I recommend it 100%

    Impact wrenches

As a home mechanic and bodger of some repute, I have mainly bought Makita in the past Andy, but do have some De Walt stuff. The De Walt DCF990 has such good reviews it was a no-brainer especially for the LR. It is a mans tool weight wise, but like any good battery power tool it is perfectly...

    Hub stake nut

I did the job by pulling the whole half shaft assembly out. The idea was to stop oil leaking, so i replaced the hub O ring. It didn't make any difference, the hub still leaks oil over the back plate, so will need to replace the hub complete at some point. i dont envisage this as a problem now...

My trusty version of RAVE for my 2003 LR D S2 no longer works. Can anyone advise me where I can find it to downloaded afresh. I can find the Workshop Manual easily enough but not a working complete RAVE set of manuals including electrical diagrams and working descriptions etc.

    Two post or scissor lift

I have the opportunity of purchasing a second hand two post lift and should like to get your thoughts. The two post is a 1989 Stenhoj Mascot with lift capacity of three ton. It is currently fitted with a three phase motor and has led a sheltered life in a country estate workshop and seems in...

    Impact wrenches

Thanks guys. So far it is looking like the Cordless Impact Driver is the way to go and I appreciate all the comments and recommendation regarding these tools. The use I would put the tool to would be on my Land Rover Discovery S2, and three older classic cars I maintain, so torque capability is...
