Possibly due to the amount of snow picking up even more of a reflection, but my headlights seem to be flickering when I go over bumps (and piles of snow/ice) I don’t think I’m hallucinating, although it’s impossible to look at the front of the vehicle I’m driving. Would this suggest dodgy...

Guy I helped had a rope on him and I just put it around one of the rear bars. Didn’t have to take him far and seemed to work 🤷🏻‍♂️

Standard summers day there

Quite a lot up here in Yorkshire. Been out doing side missions this morning, pulling a few cars and giving stranded walkers a lift to Tesco 😂

Are you saying to use a hazard switch in place of the indicator flash light Phil? Where does this get wired into? 🤔

Fog Light rewired ✅ Reverse light rewired ✅ Horrific wire splicing removed and replaced with fresh cable for indicators ✅ Attempted to change the Speedo cable but I’m not getting a reading so something not right there 🤔

Had a few parts arrive so first job was replacing the manky old gear gaiter

It won’t be going back in

PROGRESS UPDATE: Identified and rewired: Sidelights ✅ Headlights ✅ Horn ✅ Indicators ✅ Current issues: Reverse light always on, and wiring looks like rats have been at it. Reverse switch does work 💡 Fog light doesn’t work but bulb works. Needs rewiring 💡 Full beam doesn’t work 💡

Old glass yes. There’s all sorts of wires spliced on the indicator stalk so I’ve ordered a new one rather than try to work out all the nonsense which has gone on there.

High beam and rear fog light both don’t work (neither does flash). New relay may be needed.

You’re right about the starter. Removing it prevents it starting. Other one doesn’t seem to impact anything (and I don’t have a heated rear screen) so it’s probably redundant.

Horn was totally goosed so I’ve fitted a new one on a new circuit to be sure.

It’s got pretty new LED lights front and rear. Having looked at the wiring, I think the issue is with the ground wire. I’ll patch something tomorrow when the light returns to hopefully prove this.

Perfect thanks. I’m hoping my lack of brake lights is just down to dirty connectors or the wires being the wrong way round. Off to check now.

Does anyone have photos of how to access the brake light switch on the Defender?
