I had a front chassis section and crossmember from these guys fitted two years ago. The quality was very good.

There are lots around. Don’t buy in haste.

If you buy something already “modified”, beware of it having had a hard life. Better to buy on overall condition and not lots of toys and extras bolted to it. Best to take someone with you who knows these vehicles if you can and look at quite a few to get an idea of what is good and what isn’t.

Agree, £10k is too steep. It’s also someone with a family connection so I’m sure you can get it for much less. As Mick says, an MoT shouldn’t be too much of an issue to start with. And it’s got farmers wing syndrome!

The exhaust had sheared at the elbow below the turbo where it joins the manifold. It was welded back together by my indy specialist. No more rattling exhaust.

I find there’s never a right place but there’s always a really inconvenient time or place!

I had mine done by my independent landy specialist. From memory, it was the new head gasket, head bolts and coolant. It was ten years ago and I’ve since sold the disco so haven’t got the exact details.

+1. No sealant needed either. The previous owner fitted mine and painted them black. But the paint is coming off as it doesn’t key to aluminium chequerplate without preparation.

My Td5 developed a leak at the back of the engine behind the rotary oil filter. The coolant had a steady slow leak with no obvious signs or overheating. It turns out the head gasket had failed with a very slight leak but the tell-tale orange coolant trail was only visible when I removed the oil...

I took a look under the 90 today. Turns out the downpipe has failed just before the intermediate pipe 🙄. But I’ve been eyeing up a shiny stainless system… 😎😎

Can I suggest that the title is amended to something like Light bar Wiring or similar so that it comes p on a title search for posts?
