Is it a disco 200Tdi? If so, it’s likely a defender sensor has been fitted, which reads hot.

Roll cages come up for sale on eBay and fb marketplace regularly which will help price it. Does it mount onto the chassis or is it a non structural one for looks only? If it does fit onto the chassis, removing it may leave holes in the bodywork. Personally, I’d leave it but each to their own.

As an occasional drive, I really wouldn’t worry about fuel costs. You’ll still get low to mid 20’s MPG. Use premium petrol too, not the cheap variety. It’s a very nice engine.

It’s a pity it’s restricted. You could drive from Kemble all the way to Sherston where the road became surfaced.

It’s become restricted since I last drove it then. It was TRO’d initially, no doubt pushed by the local resident.

There are two fords on the fosseway. The one at brokenborough is quite deep most of the year but in winter or after heavy rain, it is very deep. The second Ford towards Easton Grey has a TRO if I remember correctly. It was used for off-piste driving which resulted in concrete posts being put in...

I had an Adwest box fitted by my local Indy. It was recommended over fitting new seals or any other replacements.

Driving a camouflaged Landy through parts of Africa could add a whole new dynamic (risk) to the trip!

If it’s a genuine charity expedition, I would have thought some corporate sponsorship in the form of a vehicle would be more appropriate. It’s optimistic to expect someone to gift a vehicle.
