Do you mean puffing with dip stick out or does it blow the stick out?

What does your temp gauge tell you? For any older vehicle I recommend fitting an aftermarket gauge that reads in numbers degrees.

Loctite 638, fills up to 0.25mm, that is 0.00984 of an inch.

If the regulator fails sometimes the result is an alternator putting out to many volts, end result will be a fried battery. Check voltage at the alternator connection engine running, should be 14. something at most.

The bearing/bearings having partially seized most likely. Was the alternator getting rather hot?

As in post above only early 200 cranks had the taper. Recon you need ThreeBond TB1375B Green High Temp retainer to hold all in place. Or Loctite 603 is another make.

Simple cheap things first. Accelerator to pump linkage operating correct, pump lever going all the way. Fuel filter [just change it] and lift pump ok.

Detail in pic not good enough to say but a star washer is made of spring steel and is a use once fitting.

Worth checking the motor earth point is good.

Depending on the maker don't think it is a removable part.

Simple 12v test light you can purchase or make one up. One lead to a known earth spot, probe on other lead to touch each connection in plug and see if power is getting there. With ignition on one connection is always live for the park function the other live with the wiper switch.

Couple of questions first. How long/far did you drive after belt went? Steering failed. [one belt does it all on 300] Did you observe what the temperature gauge was saying? Did the charge warning lamp come on? Is there still coolant in the system, header tank?
