    Difficult removing roof bar

Apologies for lack of reply. I've been away working. I will upload some pictures to show a clearer explanation. The RR gets 4 new air bags fitted tomorrow so maybe the fitter will see a way round the problem up top???

    Difficult removing roof bar

I've managed to remove the offside roof bar on my P38. The nearside one is proving difficult. 2 of the 3 heads of the bolts have stripped smooth and therefore can't remove the plate to access the rest of the holding clamps. I've got frustrated and drilled the heads but I'm fast thinking this...

Are cheap P38 Walnut trim pieces on eBay any good?

Oddly enough I want to remove all my walnut trim and go back to black. Personal preference.

Drivers door lock connecting rod clip

There are quite a few parts on Ebay but I can't see anything specific to the connecting rod. I'm told the clip may well be sat in the bottom of the door. Time to find a magnet I think. Charles may be the trader from Wales. I've had parts from him so I will send him a message.

Drivers door lock connecting rod clip

On a previous thread about being locked out of my P38, there is a clip missing from the lock mechanism. It enables key entry and without it the key cannot be used as it moves freely and the rod does not move up or down. If there is a clip available from a supplier or a forum member I would...

I've locked myself out of my P38!

Thanks everyone for the ideas and solutions. The RR now runs. Mechanic turned up this morning and used the instructions on here to enable it to start. Fitted all the parts and my MOT retest is booked for Monday at 10am. He took off the drivers door card and indeed he reported that the lock...

I've locked myself out of my P38!

Good point. I'll find my charger and get that done first.

I've locked myself out of my P38!

Well we have progress. I'm in the RR at last. Method used was a battery connected to the live feed to the starter motor and the negative to the engine. Used the fob to unlock and I was back in. Now for the next problem. It will not start. Throws up all sorts of warnings and remains immobilised...

I've locked myself out of my P38!

That crossed my mind but how do I apply?

I've locked myself out of my P38!

I realise that specifics should be via email or personal messaging etc. Pop the bonnet seems a bit easier than going in via the door top. I'm happy to give out contact details for a solution. All these lovely parts are waiting to go out on the road. I'm amazed something simple has ground...

I've locked myself out of my P38!

Trying to be clever I knew the RR would be laid up for about 10 days or more I took off the negative lead of the battery to save the charge. Locked the car by pushing down all the buttons and locked the drivers door with the key. Job done. Went back a couple of days later to load up the parts...

MOT fail but not too bad. Parts on order

Considering I bought the car with 7 weeks MOT left, I knew there would be a bill coming up on an old Range Rover. Luckily I was given some spares and I think some are the ones I need. The rest are on order. I have STC1871 and FTC3571. Do they fit on the hub joint. Accurate identity would be...

Air bag purchase recommendation please P38 DSE 1997

Island 4X4 were helpful. Order has been posted to me. The YouTube video on how to fit them was very good too.

Air bag purchase recommendation please P38 DSE 1997

I'm looking for good quality air bags. I've been told some on offer are not so good. Direction to an old thread discussion would be an easy route if possible?

    25 years later I've bought a P38

Thanks. I found the guide and it seems ok to do. As usual I'll set aside half or maybe all day to ensure I can overcome any problems. Now to find some quality air bags.

    25 years later I've bought a P38

It had a full service today. MOT on Monday. A ball joint cover was replaced today so the mechanic sees no other reason why it should not pass. He recommends replacing the air bags in the near future as they are looking old. They seem cheap enough to buy but its the fitting that seems to be the...

P38A Is it time to jump to LPG ? (4.6l Gems)

I'm very late to this thread as I have only just seen it. Having had 2 LPG cars I am really disappointed at its demise. They were petrol saloons and ran without fault for years on gas. My local converter and supplier of gas has completely stopped all work on LPG and gone back to service and MOT...
