Steering Column Locked - Freelander 2

That’s a shame - bit too far! If you can find someone with the JLR SSD, not only can you read the codes and diagnose etc., you can also buy a cheap Chinese knock-off key on Amazon or fleabay and use that to code it and make another spare. There is another system that works to code a spare key...

Steering Column Locked - Freelander 2

Well firstly - don’t sell it! As you say, that’s low mileage for an F2, and yes, you are better fixing your known car rather than buying another unknown one. I’m sure we can help with the issue, it’s not an uncommon one, so one or two on here will have already had to deal with it. As for...

Buying a Freelander 1 with propshaft removed

I'd have a bet that this is a part exchange car being sold off - it may well have been like this for a long time?

Buying a Freelander 1 with propshaft removed

All depends really on whether you want to use the 4 wheel drive system. As you probably know, they generally get removed due to issues with the VCU (first), which can then mess up the IRD / drivetrain. If they are removed as preventative work, then the IRD and drivetrain may be ok. It'll likely...

Tyre recommendations for 2008 freelander 2

I fitted the Geolanders G015 on my F1, and I have Falken Wildpeaks on my F2. Both are good. They handle green-laning and fields/farms well, and standard road noise on both is not bad at all. They are both 3PMSF rated. The Wildpeaks have a slightly more aggressive look over the Geo’s, IMO. They...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Jumping out of gear on Motorway

That would be a shame. It’s worth a little exploration under the gear stick at least - it may be an easy fix. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/freelander-2-manual-gear-selector-problem.123328/

What have you done to your Freelander today

Took my F2 for his MOT - passed without even a sniff of an advisory.

Freelander 1 can't find a cv joint that fits.

Look it up here (don't buy it from here - silly expensive!) https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/parts/index/hierarchy/id/4.55800.56225/brand/land-rover/

Knocking Noise in Drive and not reverse

When you say ‘recently fitted’… do you mean there wasn’t there beforehand? If so, that’ll be the reason it was missing - most get removed due to IRD/diff issues, as @Nodge68 mentions.
