    Beating the Land Rover cold

Genuine door seals and good door alignment helps. That defender draught right on the hip and kidney is horrible. My 300tdi disco is fine after first couple miles šŸ˜‰

    Bankzs 110 CSW XS Build

Bought an allisport one didnā€™t you. Couldnt avoid it could youā€¦. Donā€™t know if you did that weird in-line stat but theyā€™re quite brittle too and worth changing

Iā€™ve used a full bottle šŸ˜‚ itā€™s saying nothings left but still letting out 20 so Iā€™ll keep it going. I really want a new welder. Either a rogue and r parweld but Iā€™ve just had to pay out for a new boiler šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Disco 1 Measurements for Rear Door Gap

Max if you want pictures of it all look at my ā€œtry again threadā€ thereā€™s also details in there for it all. Iā€™ve gone to the extent of new tubs where I didnā€™t watch to keep patching! Youā€™ll be buzzing once itā€™s done.

Disco 1 Measurements for Rear Door Gap

Yeah I lifted mine from there with wooden blocks. I did a similar repair to the one youā€™re doing years ago. Itā€™s quite intricate at the boot end! The actual beam isnā€™t too bad. Youā€™ve got unlucky that itā€™s gone there. Yeah Iā€™m doing full restoration on this one šŸ‘šŸ» Bare in mind micks pictures...

Yeah I like those. Think itā€™s called windjammer - suits a defender so well. And arran beige which you never see!!!

    Pig

Well this old sow has been excellent through the winter. I thought Iā€™d sell it when restoration is done but think Iā€™d struggle to part with her. What Iā€™d like to know if what you guys would do to give it a little refresh mechanically? Iā€™ve tonnes of spares and as it doesnā€™t smoke much or use...

Disco 1 Measurements for Rear Door Gap

Your door was likely scraping due to the hinge sagging mate rather than the metal work sagging. Good shout on the bar across the back - Iā€™ve literally just done the same as what you say albeit I used a crane.

Time to check everything lines up! Also repaired the pillar and neatened it right up. Iā€™m going to chop the bottom off other side and repeat the process as itā€™s so much tidier and I hate it when this area looks scabby. You really notice it on discos when you open the rear door, Anyway, thereā€™s...

A bloody fiddly job. Angles, twists and tiny pieces. You can see that the crossmember is supposed to be sandwiched between inner and outer skin. I wonder how many actually do this as you have to chop off a bit more than youā€™d want to. My pencil is pointing to crossmember piece. Little gap too...

Got couple hours in. A welding story board. Bit of tweaking and messing about but Iā€™m happy. Z piece ready to be melted on now.
