First suspect is the interior fusebox next the BCU cos both could have suffered due to moisture or water ingress if the vehicle was not stored in a dry garage.... btw you can't "delete" the immobiliser on a D2, all you can do is to disable the whole alarm with nanocom or similar but not as long...

Hi, check the wire from that C0500 connector cos it's possible to be from that one which is the modulator's main earth, if you can't confirm 100% that the wire is intact due to space limitations unplug the connector and check continuity to earth in it with multimeter or a bulb, if it was ruled...

Disco II - Starter or Glow Plugs or something else?

You dont have to swap the batteries for test just disconnect them both and connect the defender's battery with the jump leads to the D2's battery leads then try the other way around to see if the defender starts with the D2's battery

Disco II - Starter or Glow Plugs or something else?

Hi, measure voltage on the battery while cranking, if it drops below 10.5V it will not start even though it cranks well cos the ECU needs more power so first of all fit a powerfull battery and if the voltage drops with that too the problem is with the starter. Is it manual or auto?

so... injectors or carb ? ... would be good to say what engine you have though

Discovery 2 blower NipponDenso vs Bosch

Hi, yes AFAIK there is a difference as the early one is wider but the sellers are not always spot on... i remember having this discussion a while ago on other forum, see THIS (and the picture in the first post) neglect the links in it cos they are not valid anymore, the gist is that if your's is...

Remote central locking wiring fault and the way round it.

I doubt that a '14 D4 has the same wiring setup like a '05 D3 especially that there are no green wires involved in the central locking on a D4

    Britpart Lynx Evo Diagnostics App?

You posted in the discovery section so i didnt realise it's about defender, the gist is to try to communicate with other module than EMS to see if works or not

    Britpart Lynx Evo Diagnostics App?

As long as i works with a '04 Td5 EMS it should work with the '99 too so it's not a firmware issue and i have a strong feeling that nanocom or any other would give you the same message cos it's a communication or ECU issue on the vehicle. Try to access the ABS on the '99 and if it's the same...

Disco 2 Air suspension amber light wiring

I'll not go deep into this now cos it's more complicated but i'll simplify, make a a test: get a piece of wire, connect one side to earth and the other to the pin with the PK wire, the ORM light should come on this way, if it does all you have to do is to use a two way 4 pin on/off rocker...
  11. sierrafery

Disco 2 Air suspension amber light wiring

And what's wrong with the PK wire which brings it on? do you want to splice in other?
  12. sierrafery

Disco 2 Air suspension amber light wiring

The PK(purple/pink) in your diagram would light up the ORM light, for the SLS it's WO(white/orange) from pin 22 of C0223(it can be mixed up with 0229 in some cases but that one has BW at pin 22 and goes elswhere)... the warnings are not powered by those wires but earthed to come on. Disconnect...

Do you have diff-lock too? cos if not that light woud be better IMO, though if you insist i'll tell you for the SLS

Disco 2 Disco 2 td5 cranks but wont start.

Then it's not a fuel pressure issue, i'm affraid it's something serious or something hilariously simple but missed, a nanocom or similar is needed to diagnose it step by step based on live inputs and to swap the ECU with known good one eventually cos it can be an ECU fault too

Disco 2 Disco 2 td5 cranks but wont start.

hear this untill the end(the phone was about 20cm from the FPR) , before the end it stops with a click for about 5 secs then starts again .... if nothing like that on your's the problem is with the fuel pressure for some reason

Disco 2 Disco 2 td5 cranks but wont start.

Like an air leak hissing... if nothing like that the problem is with the fuel pressure... load the video to youtube or here https://streamable.com/ and post the link

Disco 2 Disco 2 td5 cranks but wont start.

When you start the purging mode with the 5 throttlle method and the EML starts flashing can you hear a noticeable intermittent hissing sound from the FPR area?

Disco 2 Disco 2 td5 cranks but wont start.

Let's hope it's not some catastrophic failure and it's a timing issue

Disco 2 Disco 2 td5 cranks but wont start.

As long as the rpm reading WHILE cranking is around 250 and there is 4 bar in the FPR(this must be measured with gauge to be 100% sure) can you feel any diesel smell at the exhaust? also would be good to see the battery voltage while cranking cos if it drops below 10.5V it will not start while...
