I bet it is weeping from the in/out of the pump but evaporating (with stink) before it hits the ground. :)

Well, it isn't as bad, but still a lingering odour. I wonder if the pump plumbing is leaking. It is on the bulkhead side of the engine.

Yes, the "Crotch Rivet" was removed for humane reasons. ;) Sitting round a roaring camp fire you didn't want a tingly on your dingly-dangly.

Congrats on the cash windfall, and for the new job. Sorry to hear your ear is a bit queer. <-See what I did there? ;) Get well soonest. :D

The little pocket in top RH edge of the RH front pocket of a pair of jeans is known as a fob pocket. It is where cowboys kept their fob watch. Not to be confused with the fob-pocket of a 3-Pea-whistle. ;)

Getting Gwen the Mini to Run.

I only have a small and insignificant update (something my wife often complains about). ;) Throttle & Choke cables were attached (in the rain). :( Car starts OK, no identifiable petrol leaks or overflows, so the basics must be OK. :) I did get the idle revs to sit at 1,000 with no hunting up and...

Morning All. :D I had a moments panic last night when I could not find a crucial bit of the carburettor linkage. I checked all my pockets and no sign of it. Got up this morning got dressed and reached into the fob pocket (previously checked) and there it was... Phew! I awoke a bit earlier...

I was thinking of an AFR Gauge Kit. :) That would make tuning easier maybe. But only if you understand what parts of the needle you are using at all loads. :)

I have not been able to do anything on the mini today because it is raining all the time. :( I did 2 indoor jobs for "domestic management" today so I can skive off on Sat/Sun as needed I think (if the weather is suitable). :) The mini is becoming a bit of a sinkhole for money. I keep seeing...

Morning All. :D Great News re: Mr. @Stanleysteamer - so very pleased for you both. It's my day to have a "lie-in" but I couldn't. Too uncomfortable so I got up to feed the cats. :) It seems that no matter how I lie in the bed my hand eventually go numb (more the right hand than the left it...

Minor Update: The carb is back in the car. :) OMG what a struggle!! There is no "Porthole" in the bulkhead as is often seen on minis so there was virtually no "wiggle room". I had to remove the new air cleaner I had just fitted to the carb in order to get the clearance to guide the carb...

Sadly the kit came with no bushes, but luckily, I could not feel any slop in the shaft at either end. NEW seals were provided. :)

Morning All :D Running late today, been on the blower to a mate. :) Cold frosty start here today. :) I might get the carb back in the car later. :) Have a great day! :D

Kit indeed did have a new jet tube. :), the needle in the carb is a "BBA" (not sure that is right for this engine?). Strangely the needle holder was sticking about 3mm proud of the bottom of the piston, and that certainly is not right, but that may have been me not doing it up tightly enough...

And in a startling turn of events the carb has been refurbished.:mexicanwave::dance: The rebuild kit seems to cover several variants as I have plenty of parts left over. Most of these excess items bear no resemblance to any part I have removed from the carb in the process or form part of...

Its been a bad day. The helpful call from Barclays about Fraud turned out to be scammers again (they are getting clever) that spoofed Barclays Calling Line ID to make my phone tell me its Barclays calling. ;) Anyway, because I was feeling "edgy" I had moved all the money out of the account to...

Getting Gwen the Mini to Run.

This morning has been interesting. I removed the Carburettor and was surprised to find that the securing nuts on the manifold studs were only done up finger tight + 1-flat. Now I am no ace mechanic but when the engine gets warm/hot and those studs elongate won't the carb be floating about like...

.... that it has been an ODD morning. An unsolicited call from "Bank Security" .... no really, not the usual Indian boilerhouse call centre gig. Someone has been buying stuff and ordering accommodation on a debit card I cancelled 2 weeks ago after I suspected a scam on the internet had...
