I am new to welding and metalwork in general. Doing some work on trailer and wondering what's best to protect the exposed steel and weld bead? I have a few cans of cold galvanised spray which someone suggested but wondering if some of the proper mechanical folks in here have any advice?

I was tempted to use sticks like ****, but maybe that will be too much work to get off (acetone maybe) if i ever do the job properly. PS what are "roof bar gaskets"?

Ha, my friend's Disco ceiling has been done with Homebase magnolia emulsion! Looks bloody horrible but almost fall for it from a distance!! I have a fairly good headlining so I would just like to keep it that way as long as possible, so I will try some evostik contact adhesive, good shout thanks

Thanks, but I think it would take a long time to see any water inside, as there is no visible leak, it looks like moisture/water build up which eventually dripped, so i dont think I can easily spray and check!

Thanks for that. I just looked and one end looks a bit manky so that probably needs a clean out. Not too easy to follow that document but will see if some sealant will help. Need to find some black sealant as I only have some white Stixall and that won't look too cool at the drag strip :D
