Hi Kriss, I also run a freelander same as yours. I'm almost completed with changing the head. On mine the offside headlamp cover came off. It managed to work it's way between the engine and chassis, snapped the aux drive belt, broke the cam belt covers, snapped the cam belt and bent 5 valves...

Just an update re the oil restricter on this thread, as fitted to the L Series 2:0 TD. It appears the restricter was fitted as original equipment when supplied by the factory. The dealers where later advised by the same factory, to leave them out when doing anything involving replacing the head...
