Loss of power and Black Smoke Issue

Why does there always have to be something wrong with the bloody thing? Datatek, do you have any contact details for Diesel Bob please? After it starting last night and not kicking out black smoke anymore I took it to work this morning. It took quite a few minutes of reversing a few...

Loss of power and Black Smoke Issue

Well, ordered a set of five non sensor injectors from Emmotts (used ones) for £80 I changed them over on Sunday then tried to start it but after it being sat up the garage for 6 weeks of them trying to sort it then a week outside my house, waiting for the parts and time to get it done, meant I...

Loss of power and Black Smoke Issue

The air filter is around 9 months old and is a little black but the boost pressure tests have been done both with and without the filter fitted and exactly the same results, to discount the filter being at fault. They have not had the injectors out at all so, hopefully, that will be the next...

Loss of power and Black Smoke Issue

Sorry this is a bit of a long one. My 1998 DSE (No EGR or MAF) has been in a local diesel specialist for the last 6 weeks trying to sort out a problem with a loss of power and black smoke when revved. Within the first week they had found the turbo wastegate had stuck open and managed to free...

    lack of power :(

As the OP said he had already tried swapping the MAP sensor with another one, I would have thought he would have real problems finding a MAF sensor anyway. I thought it was either one or the other depending on the year, mine had a MAP sensor and no EGR and is an early 1998 DSE.

    Injector with sensor question

I know the diesel injector with the sensor changed model numbers around 1999 (mine is a 1998 and falls within the VIN numbers for the older one), does anyone know if they also changed on Vauxhall Omega's with the M51 engine in too or are the ones fitted to those the same as the older ones in the...

    Sticky EAS

Is it manual or auto .... if the auto are you holding it on the brakes while in traffic? .... mine is the auto and I find the 30 seconds or so at under 35mph it needs to sense before moving back up to standard height applies as long you are not sat on the brakes as it then may think you are just...

    Air Con works again....

.... well at least for the time being at least. For a while I had the book symbol showing on the HEVAC system and have been using the manual setting for blowing air into the cabin. It was going to be on the list of things to look at over the time and a diagnostics on an Autologic system was...

    Another Air Con question

OK, I know, you lot must be getting sick of questions on this now but it would be nice to get it working again. From what I see, the system works with a high pressure part and a low pressure part, the low pressure bit being able to be topped up with a kit. The question I have is this, am I...

Accident pay cash or insurance ?

All 3 of the claims were settled on a no fault basis with none of them meaning I had to pay any excess. The second one (the car pulling out from the central reservation on the dual carriageway) if I had been on the bike rather than the car, it would have meant he would have killed or seriously...

Accident pay cash or insurance ?

I used to have my no claims protected, goodness knows how much over the top I was paying to do this but it proved worthless. I had 3 claims within a 3 year period (around 12 years ago), each one was a no fault incident but I lost my no claims on the last one due to 3 calims in 5 years. The...

    1999 2.5 BMW P38 Downpipe

Spent most of last night trying to find out more about this and found the manufacturer of the downpipe/cat, a company called BM Catalysts in Mansfield. Their site shows the BM80092 part as the replacement for both the ESR2521 (manual) and the ESR3975 (auto). I have emailed them to ask why the...

    1999 2.5 BMW P38 Downpipe

Oooh bugger ...... not sure if it is worth the risk fitting it with no flexi joint, they must think there is more movement of the engine on the auto to the manual. Thanks GV Bodgerrfa, is yours the manual or auto?
