Freelander 1 TD4 rear wheel arch fuel pump stuff

Having recently changed my fuel filter located in the rear wheel arch and noticing how grotty the brackets were on the housing, I've been searching round and found you can buy a kit of parts for the housing and brackets under p/n WJW500020. The bracket that holds it to the body at the rear is...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Impressed with that TPMS setup, a good price too. Today, I changed the fuel filter that lives under the rear wheel arch. Not difficult, and thankfully all the bolts came out! Needless to say, everything has gone back liberally coated with grease. I even remade the earth contact to the filter...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted a good used power fold mirror to the drivers door as the existing one needed a helping hand to unfold every time. Very satisfied for £29 and half an hour of my time.

What have you done to your Freelander today

My passenger side seat heating has packed in, the light on the switch comes on, but was wondering how to approach trying to fix it… Where is the cm module located, is there one for each side…? Thank you

My new Freelander (issues and questions!)

Both sides of the heated screen are separate circuits, each with it's own 30 amp fuse in a little box next to main fuse box, it's the one nearest the engine. The other one contains the relay. Some of the wiring and the earthing points for the heated screen are under the scuttle panel, might be...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Gave it a full service, then cleaned up and greased the brake lines ready for the MOT… Made life a bit easier for myself in the future by drilling holes in the under part of the bumper in line with the front bolts of the under tray.

Freelander 1 Heated front screen switch removal

Thank you for the replies, did a little more digging and found this... ...and this... Maybe would explain why it's not working, but now I need to find why this has happened... Can't seem to add images from photobucket at the moment, but basically the relay has burnt out and partially...

Freelander 1 Heated front screen switch removal

Hello all, Tried my heated front screen the other day when it was raining and the inside misted up, anyway the light did not come on and the screen didn't either. I have checked the fuses and all are intact. The service history shows it had a replacement switch at one point. Are they a...

What have you done to your Freelander today

That's a ball ache Dangermike, the damage didn't look that bad… Any plans to buy it off the insurance and get it back on the road?

Rear drivers side window not working

You may be able to drag the window up with a hand on each side opposite each other and just drag, if you get what I mean… Failing that, you have to take the door card off and push it up from below. Prop up with a piece of wood if it won't stay up. By the crunching sound you heard, I'd...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Replaced the vacuum hose that runs to the EGR solenoid, bit of a fiddle getting the new one on the solenoid mostly by feel… Managed to route the hose better so it shouldn't rub on other bits and pieces… Washed it too!

Td4 Thermostat Replacement - The Way To Do It!

Hey Arctic2 I'm liking the idea of the additional holes in the under tray to access those bolts, because they are a bugger to get at. Anyway, would you mind telling me what size they are and some distances from known points to locate them when you get a minute… Thank you.

    radiator top hose diameter

Thanks Arctic2, my suspicions are confirmed then. I was more keen on the alloy thermostat housing as opposed to the Gates one inside the hose, don't know which hose I'd attempt to try and get it in to on that set up… I've had a new standard thermostat sitting in the garage for quite a while...

    Engine tie rod

I think the part number for yours will be KKH000070. I used Rimmer Bros. But have come across Mode Land Rover who's prices seem good for genuine parts, but I haven't used them, so can't comment on the service…

    radiator top hose diameter

Mine is like item 3 in the image, that's why I think I'd struggle to fit the remote type of thermostat…

    radiator top hose diameter

I would be interested if any one with an auto has fitted the aluminium type, as looking at the top hose on my 2004 auto there is a short tapered piece of hose coming from the engine into a plastic junction piece with a hose going to the the rad and another going off towards the gearbox cooler...

    Td4 injector numbers

When I needed to replace one of mine, I was advised by a place that refurbishes injectors that you always replace like for like… Those last 3 numbers denote application, 049 is for the Freelander with a manual gearbox. Where as 130 is for the auto. Hope this helps.
