    Disco 2 advice please

He's talking rubbish - a TD5 that's been looked after will go forever. Besides that replacing an engine is way more effort than replacing the oil cooler or even just the gasket, and you'd have no guarantee that a random replacement engine from eBay didn't have its own issues.

    Coolant flow direction

On an EU3 TD5 (and basically any EU2 TD5 that's had the radiator replaced) that connection on the radiator is blanked internally, so it's not going to do anything. As Fery said, just blank it at the oil cooler and the expansion tank (or fit an EU2 tank).

Disco 2 Egr blank, broke coolant hose?

Yeah it'll be fine to just blank the output.

Disco 2 Egr blank, broke coolant hose?

The coolant flow into the EGR cooler comes from the back of the oil cooler, and it just goes from the oil cooler into the EGR cooler into the expansion tank. On the 15p/16p TD5 it only exists to feed the EGR cooler so it doesn't matter when the EGR is blanked. As it's blanked off to the...

    Disco 2 2" lift Disco Td5

If the rear springs are that new then just get 2" lift blocks and +2" shocks on the rear, and +2" springs and shocks on the front. Turrets probably don't need replacing, but new spring isolators (rubber rings) might be worthwhile as mentioned.

Disco 2 TD5 Crankshaft pulley - seal to change or not to change?

I've done the job twice on different D2s and I've replaced it anyway rather than risk disturbing it and having to take the pulley off again to replace it. I pry it out carefully with a screwdriver, and use the old seal and a hammer to tap the new one in.

    Disco 2 Facelift

The switchover to 15p was earlier than the facelift. Plenty of pre-facelift D2s came with 15p engines.

    Engine Mount - Discovery 2

It doesn't necessarily mean a geniune part - LR themselves don't put the G at the end, although some sellers do. Companies like Britpart also put the G at the end of an aftermarket part to indicate the part is from the "OEM" supplier. The G at the end doesn't mean anything consistent and you...

Disco 2 Power Steering Pump removal

On a TD5 it's just remove the aux belt, remove the pulley from the pump, disconnect the pipes and remove the 4 bolts holding the PAS pump in.

Disco 2 Small hoses replacement, clamps, and one missing?

As far as I'm aware the 3 are the only pipes of that ID. The vacuum pipe the other side (between the alternator and the brake booster) is a different size. Not sure about the pipes for the EGR if it's still fitted.

Disco 2 Small hoses replacement, clamps, and one missing?

You're missing one of the small pipes from the wastegate modulator (the box) to the intake hose. There should be a plastic elbow in the hole on the intake and a pipe on it that goes to the top of the modulator. The plastic elbow can be bought on its own - DNG100280. The 3 pipes from the...

You're missing the front page of the bulletin which states that the rear hub procedure is only for the Range Rover. That's why it states it's an increase over the WSM (the P38 WSM says 260Nm)...

That's exactly what I did when the bolts rounded on mine. Took a few minutes, no master technicians required.

Check the age/wear of the tyres. I replaced the old, worn AT tyres on the front of my 2000 D2 with new tyres today and it made a significant difference in how it drives on the road.

    Hello!

Hello! Just picked up a 2000 Discovery 2 TD5 automatic. It's not going my main car so will mostly be driven off road. It's not in bad condition for the age/mileage and the previous owner had a fair bit of work done over the last couple of years. Pretty standard except for A/T tyres and it's...
