P38A 2.5 diesel- want one but scared!

I did mine on my old engine (in the garage) didn't take too long and made a big difference. Just bloody awkward to do in situ. Just bought a new one to swap out as this alternator is original 12 - 13.5v max. Mains on and it drops to 12

P38A Windscreen clips BTR4428 -considering 3D printing some

Hi, I'm interested and can help. I've got a printer that can print carbon and my CAD skills are not up to doing the STL file. I'm happy to print out and make sets available for cost plus p&p. I have to import the NylonX (carbon filament) from USA unless there is any in the UK. It's been...

    P38A Switch pack problems

I know the answer! Because it's a P38 ;) My P38 tells me I have a gearbox fault at *any* whiff of electrical gremlins. It even did it when I blew up the MAP sensor (don't ask) and limited the car to 50mph. The only fault showing up was "gearbox fault". That took some searching to fix. I...

    P38A Diesel leak off pipes

This time mine have lasted 2 and a bit years without leaking. 18,000 miles on cooking oil mix as well. I know I've just hexed it now....

P38A Battery, to disconnect or not.

I've got a solar panel and obd2 connector. Left it in mine for 3 months whilst out of the UK and it was fine. Didn't work on the now sold TT for some reason, battery always went flat. Around £50 for panel and about £10 for the obd2 connector. Obviously park where your car is in the sun :D:cool:

    WAMMERS

Hi Mozz, Please pass on mine and my wife's condolences and deepest sympathies. Wammers invited us to his house twice when I had a problem and he helped me diagnose and fix the problems. Kept us topped up with tea as well. His sharp witty banter will be greatly missed, he was indeed an...

Hi all, still alive. Work has most definitely gotten in the way. Rommel still on the drive way waiting for the work. I need time off plus a break in the weather. Wish me luck in April. Had to get an Audi Q7 to drive around in for work. Guess what? Air suspension faults. Luckily I cut my teeth on...

    Help Needed Injection Pump tools

I'm guessing you mean for the security bolt? I've pm'd you. Other tools requirement depends on what else you want to do. I can tell you what I used if you let me know how far you are going and which o rings you are changing :-)

    Help Needed Injection Pump tools

I've pm'd him. Been quiet due to busy job and severely missing the armchair for my weekly travels. Looks like it will be Christmas holidays to complete the job due to time constraints. 9/32 whacked on carefully with a BFH fits better than the 7mm socket

It was my understanding that was the issue. My DT gauge is in 10ths or 100ths not millimetres. That's what threw me a curved ball

There are 3. Two easily to get to and the third is a *@"! And one of mine (stud I think) even came out whilst being tightened!

I did! I was baffled why the readings seemed to be reversed. I had a wet of tea and voila, it came to me that I was not reading the gauge correctly.
