    3.5 v8 dies after 10 mins

Hi No I’ve already tried that when stopped on side off road quickly turned off and checked both fuel bowls and ok LH side carb did have less than the other. If it was fuel it would at least splutter before she died. Although when dying if you put your foot down it keeps it going but ruff then...

    3.5 v8 dies after 10 mins

So started it this morning, plugged in a light between a spark plug and got ready with camera to film it.....didn’t cut out run all the way up to 82-85 fans cut in all seems to be ok everything around 87 degrees. Alt 50 at the front 80 in the middle and 60 degrees at the back so seems to be ok...

    3.5 v8 dies after 10 mins

Just playing with it this morning and realized of course the fuel is only half full it’s not a pressurized system as it has run back so the level is because the (viewing) filter sits 45% above the carb, as soon as I pushed it to the same height as the float blows it filled up so that’s answered...

I must say again the same as the SU carb man said the cut off is not fuel as it just stops no coughing or spluttering I will try and take a video

    3.5 v8 dies after 10 mins

Hi Yes that’s how I had mine before whilst still having the issue so changed made since and during the issue. I was finding that the LH swirl pot had less fuel than the right hand side hence putting a t joint in the middle of the two to supply both carbs the same amount. No it didn’t cure it

I think you could only get that if you could bleed the filter body

Yes you did mate I did check with a stethoscope for noise and couldn’t find any do you think it’s uncheckable so replace it anyway? Replacing valley gasket not done yet I will order a new one today. Yes I’ve got a mate who’s a good mechanic and it’s stumping him. The filter was on the feed...

Hi yes it feeds both carbs on a T to ensure both are fed both returns link back and I can see the fuel returning through the joint

    3.5 v8 dies after 10 mins

No all the filters were in place the extra filter on the supply was purely just to see if there was fuel at the point of cutting out

    3.5 v8 dies after 10 mins

Well strange day I’ve still got the necessary bits hard wired. Connected a hugh jump lead from batt to Gearbox and then started her. Hard to start as cutting out quite quickly, also I tried quick start in the carbs made it die down then pick up. Then I waited for it to cut out to spray into the...

Yes coil on other side is the pulse signal. Checked the earths all tight and fuel pump has feed as the pump never stops throughout the cutting out time, being a facet pump you can hear it. I will try a big jump lead from the battery to earth it and some tomorrow.

    3.5 v8 dies after 10 mins

Yes next thing on the list then. Today I ran a separate feed to the fuel pump and coil and starter, ok no relays (reading up on relays its more of a safety good practice thing to keep high amps away from switches wet fingers etc probably more of a good idea as it’s a Landy lol) and yes you’ve...

    3.5 v8 dies after 10 mins

Yes made a massive difference to the heat coming off the headman headers and protect the brakes lines from heating up to I would recommend that stuff great to work with

    3.5 v8 dies after 10 mins

Yes since then for sure and yes I wanted to have the least amount of wires to run the engine to bypass the loom just to eliminate that side as I made the loom. I need to get together the list so....fuel pump...starter...coil...and run the alt to the battery if I did this completely separately...
