Centre diff lock stuck on! --Help

O bugger! You're spot on kenny! What a tool I am! If it sounds WAY to good to be true, it definitely is! :o :o :o :( Island 4x4 is still a good shop though... My contribution to the thread wasn't a COMPLETE waste of time and space! :D :D :D

Centre diff lock stuck on! --Help

Hi Richard. There's a shop on ebay called Island 4x4 that does viscous couplings for £43.99 or £49.99 depending on which Classic you have. They're obviously not genuine landrover parts but if you're not fussed they're cheap as chips. I've bought a few bits off them and never had a problem...

    Last 2 poly bushes, help!

Cheers redhand. It's straight in my head now, may rewrite some sections of the manual in English! Once you understand why you're doing something it becomes alot easier! If no one hears from me again on here I've probably got 2 ton of range rover resting on my corpse!! :D

    Last 2 poly bushes, help!

Thanks Irish, will do. I think I know the technique now: Jack up the back end, stick axle stands under the chassis and then support the axle. Now i'm no engineer and I know next to nowt about cars but is that to take the weight off the axle so you can work on the link? Don't mean to come...

    Last 2 poly bushes, help!

Sorry, should have made myself clearer. The issue is getting the arms of the A frame off the vehicle to replace the bushes. Can I just undo the bolts holding the arms or do i have to jack up the vehicle and support the chassis then support the axle etc. etc. Basically all that is a PITA and just...

    Last 2 poly bushes, help!

Evening guys, been fitting polybushes to my '89 Classic and got to the last 2, the A frame bushes (next to the self leveling unit above the rear axle). The others were pretty straight forward but these look a bit more complicated! Read Haynes but may as well be in french and I'm sure that book...

Ah! I see! Should have expected the old fat bastard jokes! :D :D :D You probably have a point! What do you reckon then? Police spec on the driver's side and standard on the left?! Or fatten up the missus?! Seriously though!!! What do you all think?

    leaning landy

Hi all, I'm pretty certain my 1989 classic is leaning slightly to the right. Seems to sag. I put new shocks and springs on a couple of years ago, just cheapy pro comp shocks and britpart standard height springs. Would it sag that fast? Any other ideas? Self levelling ball joint? I've polybushed...

Big bore Exhaust system for RRC

Cheers for the picture Pete, that looks really good. How did you do it then? How does it all work? I'm completely ignorant about turbos, pretty ignorant about engines generally! :o But have been learning pretty fast since buying the RR!:D Got any more pics? A wider view of the engine bay?

Big bore Exhaust system for RRC

SS Sports Exhaust from Rimmers or MM 4x4. Or Janspeed. Depends what you want to spend. Not sure on diameter but i've got a SS Sports system on mine and it's fookin big. Infact it must be 3 inches, or bloody close. Sounds beautiful to. Not sure if you'll get bigger off the shelf. Not sure you'd...

Sorry, meant to ask with my last thread, been looking at camshafts and the difference in price between genuine and replacement is MASSIVE  . Is there a noticeable difference in quality. No chance/way i'm payin £250+ for a camshaft!:D

    RRC ignition lock prob

Yeah I have. Spent 15 minutes tryin to start the bugger once! Key just wouldn't turn. Garage reckon a new ignition lock is needed but I'll leave that until it really wont turn. Hope I'm at home when that happens mind you :D :D :D
