    No it's not the same TC in the TD5 and the V8. The stall speed on the TD5 version is 2600-2800rpm whereas the v8 one is 2200-2400rpm. In other words the v8 TC controls the engine revs much better. Dave

    There's the hard way and the easy way of doing something. If you remove the fan, you can then directly deal with the tensioner. How are you going to remove the plastic cowl on a TDi 300, with the fan in place?

    I have exactly the same car as you and a new head unit will fit within 5 mins. Take out the old one, undo the std connectors, plug in the new one and off you jolly well go. Sell the head unit, connecting cable and CD changer on Ebay. I did and it more than paid for new kit. Dave
