Nanocom says timing modulation is 48. The injector light flashes when I rev to 2000, it flashes on the return. If I rev to over 3000 it falls back OK and no flashing injector light. Oh forgot to say it has a rock solid idle of 750 at warm idle. Nanacom records major fault intermittent, I guess...

Doubt it was an airlock as I flattened the battery four times and used the hand primer to get fuel to the fip. Might be a wire but I've pulled, wiggled, woggled all I can see and she still starts spot on cold and even hot.

Update Changed the cps, no joy. Rechecked the pump output after the filter head with just turning the ignition. On, 200ml about Decided to remove filter and check output 200 ml so filter OK I assume. Screwed filter back on. Watched the clear pipe as a mate turned it over. Hey presto slackened...

    P38A diesel not starting

Only thing I've done with the nanacom is plugged it in, switched it off then removed it. I'm too frightened to get into the becm in case I made a mess of changing anything. Can the crankshaft position sensor be checked with an Ohm meter as I'm always cautious of connecting the sensors to one in...

    P38A diesel not starting

Hi all thanks for the replies but still a non starter Nanacom says no faults in the becm. I have alive feed with ignition on to what i would call the stop solenoid so can i take it that the engine ecu and becm are synced as the syncmate says they are. Sniff of easy start and she will fire but...

    P38A overheating

i fitted a new stat when i fitted the new rad, viscous etc ,it had a hole with a ball bearing fitted which i imagine is some sort of one way /air bleed valve. She used to sit at about 11 oclock and you can see the water flow when the stat comes in as the needle rises then falls. she usually gets...

    P38A head repair,power loss

its a swine of a dust, silica quarrying for the high spec asphalt used on the roads. If you spray it with water it just becomes a sludge. A lot of the service vans on site carry a spare i think its a maf sensor as the dust is so abrasive it wears them out in 4-5 months!!! Not nice stuff

    P38A Diesel overheated

From my bitter experience ,have the head pressure tested ,even the one in the garage before it goes on. I had my valves vacuum checked for sealing .Make sure you use a quality head gasket loads of cheap ones about best of luck

    P38A head repair,power loss

Ta for that. Checked the boost pressure and it rises as I rev up at one point it read 180 boost pressure and ambient was 105 but these varied as I revved I removed the fuel pump relay ,waited some time then revved up,still the same result . The fuel tank is 3/4 full if that helps
