Series 3 Are these glow plugs too cheap?

I'm a bit overwhelmed by your generosity. I'd have to recompense you, and give your cousin the p&p costs somehow.

I've just taken one of the plugs out, and it's full of grease. Just looks like any old type of axle grease. Bugger.

Ahhh. Found the filler plugs, thanks to your description of location. It was caked in hard mud, and not really in the place I was expecting to find it. Thanks again :)

Series 3 Are these glow plugs too cheap?

Jolly decent of you ( I love how us Mancs are helpful like that). If I could just pop round and give you a drink for them, I would. Unfortunately, I live in Galicia, and the postage would be a bit of a buggerance. I'm not sure which type I want, but I certainly need some soon - I'm having to...

Series 3 Are these glow plugs too cheap?

I want them to actually work like... ebay link so, do you think they are a good buy? or do I go for some dearer ones? ... also, they don't have the curly element I'm used to seeing. So, are they to be wired in parallel or series? :confused face smiley:

So, as yuou can see from this thread https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/enough-teeth-left-to-chew-with.295512/ not everything is completely without troubles. I'm thinking and rethinking what I should do about the gearbox. Anyway, another thing is... I can't find anywhere to top up any oil's...

Thanks James. I appreciate the heads-up. I'm reading stumpies page http://www.stumpie.com/tech/gearbox/ I'll have to educate myself rĂ¡pido

Series 3 Enough teeth left to chew with?

I'll have to google that and do a bit of research into how I can go about that. Is the syncro hub thingy likely to be the culprit of the "slipping out of 1st" issue? Honestly though, it runs really well in all gears. I treat the gbox like a baby, unlike the previous owner obviously. In...

Series 3 Enough teeth left to chew with?

I've been topping the oil up in the gearbox and transfer box of the '78 Santana I bought before Christmas, but I decided to change it all today. Having drained it, I ran a magnet through the old stuff that had been in the gearbox. She's lost a few teeth hasn't she? Still works perfectly in...

It's a bit of a problem living in Spain. Spanish ebay is crap.

I'm new to this too Mark. Like you, I've wanted one for years and finally did the deed mid-December. I'm in uk at the moment, so I ordered the bits I desperately need from Paddocks/Craddocks (even though I'm staying around the corner from Rimmer bros. - literally). There are places in Spain...

Two ways to upload a pic Mark. Easiest way, perhaps, is to use the "Upload a File" button next to the "Post Reply" button. I've used that from my phone and from my Surface tablet, so I know it works. You just need a picture on your phone (for example), click the "Upload a File" button and select...

It's only got 6s on it (skinny little things). I'm in UK at the moment, so I can't go out and have a look at it, but looking at that last picture it seems to hinder the easy use of the tow hitch. Really, I'd like to mount the spare on the bonnet but I can't find a cheap method of doing that, so...

Just bought my first Landy, 1980 series 3

Made me smile too. The first journey I undertook in my S3 was a gnat's willy short of 1000kms. The first few hundred kms were the worst. With a lot of play in the steering and such a short wheel base I had some hairy moments while coming out of bends; over-compensating one way and the other and...

Yeah, it looks a bit low doesn't it. I popped it on to see what it looks like. There are no major differences, as far as I can tell. The rear lights, and there being a strange hand-throttle down by the heater being two things I haven't seen before. Yes, it's a swb Santana 2500 down the road...

Yeah, it's a legality. About 50mph is the max. I'd love to see it beat that anyway. Nobody has mentioned the ugly light cluster on the back. They're on the list of changes. I'm going to UK on Tuesday for a few weeks. When I come back I'll start seriously looking at what needs doing and what can...
