    Replacing rusted drop tailgate supports

Hi all My supports for my bottom tailgate are at the end of their life. Has anyone done this? Any tips/advice on how to go about it? Will do the ones in the tailgate as well as the ones on the body. Josh

    Help starting!!!

Thanks Martin. Despite being hooked up to my mates huge battery in his XJR I think it was electrical power - possibly because the leads weren't heavy duty enough. The AA soon had it going with a set of heavy duty leads and their truck battery.

    What's it worth?

I think these are one of the most difficult cars to sell. When buying mine recently I could be very picky but I paid fair money (high 2s) in the end for one that was quite original looking but that had been meticulously looked after. You obviously care for yours but it is quite dazzling;not...

    Best place for parts?

Sorry to jump onto this thread; I will one day need to replace the exhaust system on my '99 4.0... I would like to buy an OEM item if possible. Does anyone know of any places that may stock these? Presume main dealers won't have them any more. Do any companies buy parts from the maker to...

New gear selector and cubby top

Hi all Does anyone know where I can get hold of a new gear selector (cover?!) and cubby box top? The leather on mine is very tired - probably beyond repair. Does anyone know of a supplier? It all needs to be cream though I could be persuaded to go for a wood selector (autobiography only?)...

    decent garage/Indy South London?

Cheers Domino I have noted them - I will use them if I can't find anything else. I presumed by the nature of their business labour would be huge?

    decent garage/Indy South London?

Hi all Having recently acquired a P38 I need to get someone who can service it and knows their way around one to do a few jobs. I have a great mechanic for my MX-5 but he doesn't seem to keen on the RR due to complexity. Does anyone know of anyone worth bearing in mind? Looking for around...

    Finally bought into P38 ownership...

Hi all After weighing up lots of thought, opinion and man maths I have bought myself a P38. Its a 99 4.0. Bought it after a lot of thought and research including reading the musings of the LZ forum. I have wanted one of these for ages but have allowed negative reputation to put me off. In...

    P38 Petrol vs Diesel

I haven't driven a diesel but they don't suit the car IMO and before I get told off I'll explain why. I bought a 4.0 V8 this weekend (turner engineering V8 which should pre-empt liner issue). Yes a big thing is the comfort, driving position and environment but overall the thing that makes the...

Still trying to buy a P38 - what do we think of these?

I have noted a couple of 99 models with Turner Engineering engines installed. Does anyone have experience with them and does that seem like a godsend given the original engines liner issue? Searching for vehicles with the top had mod is pretty tricky. Is it true that the liners only slip if...

Still trying to buy a P38 - what do we think of these?

Thankfully I don't have miles to complete, wife to convince or kids to pay for (yet) I'm coming from an MX5 with no toys so low spec isn't an issue for me. The V8 is the toy! Do you think the cars in those links should be haggled down to C. 1500 quid? .

Still trying to buy a P38 - what do we think of these?

Hi all Still looking for a P38. A couple of fine fellows on here have offered me theirs but they are a bit beyond my 2K buying budget regardless of how nice they are. I am trying to buy on condition - lots of people have said buy as late as you can but there are some very well looked after...

    Buying a P38 4.0

I only do about 3-4000 miles per year so I'm not fussed about Diesel - unless you are implying that the V8 is a set of problems on its own? I thought them to be fairly robust?
