    P38 DSE and Injector light

Well... when I first floated the idea of buying a Rangie, my buddies- none of whom every owned one- were aghast. "The reliability!", they said. "You'll break down all over the country!". they said. To which I replied, "What the hell do you lot know? I've played with Peugeots, turbocharged...

Oh you're welcome but it wasn't me who pointed you to the injectors- it was @wammers I just said to poke a diagnostic in there. Kind of like the doctor who says you should cut cigarettes and sugar. Anyhoo- you're up and running now.... for now.... so enjoy it while it lasts. Which it won't...

    P38A Valve block rebuild today!!

Yes.... and also on the 4 bolts holding in the nonreturn valve bit and the diaphragm bit. Use blue/green and not red threadlock. As for torque I have to admit I have no idea. I just torque em up enough that I'm confident the oring is nice and compressed in there and it's tight enough for the...

Pro divers are probably SO tough they don't even USE orings. :)

    P38A Valve block rebuild today!!

SSI here..... so even softer than BSAC. Maybe the BSAC guys are too tough to lube their orings, I dunno. :D

    P38A Valve block rebuild today!!

I had to google "scubido" but I used to dive.... a long time ago, as a young man. Tried it again about a year back and suddenly found it very claustrophobic. Every oring in the regulators and BC were lubed with silicon grease- again just enough to say that it's there, but not so much you have a...

    P38A Valve block rebuild today!!

I could take you home and cuddle you all night just for saying that. It's standard practise for scuba equipment too.. which is where I got the habit from and well... the stakes are rather higher there than in the EAS block.

    P38 DSE and Injector light

I think that's the most logical first step. Anything you do with the fuel system on these cars is going to cost money- in the case of a FIP rebuild, a fair chunk- so yeah... try to see if the ECU has anything to tell you. Also do start shopping around for some sort of diagnostic tool. I have a...

I've HEARD about people using vaseline! No issues with the vaseline degrading the viton orings and the rubber plunger ends?

    P38A Valve block rebuild today!!

OMG!!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! I've been feeling so insecure about this since I joined this forum and appear to be the only one doing it.

    P38 DSE and Injector light

Hi actually forget all that. I've edited my post to delete all that too. I think really the first step is to interrogate the ECU to see if it's complaining about anything.

    P38A Valve block rebuild today!!

I always do. With a little silicon grease. Just a bit, not a great big glob of it. All the orings and the valve stems. Helps them seat properly. But that's just me, from the looks of it. :D

Erm..... do you have any sort of diagnostic tool? Might be worth checking if there's any error codes which might help you diagnose the problem before spending any money.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I'm pretty sure they didn't ban me...... or did they?! Now I'm afraid to go check! :D

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Erm... my turn to talk out of turn..... I've owned the Solihull Horror 15 years now and there's no way I could have held on to it even half that long without help from other owners who were willing to help me out with my endless questions and just as they were paying forward the help THEY...

Ah yes... that was it- chain stretch, not tensioner.

Oh... while I was about it, I went and looked for what the connector pinout was so here it is- C0749. Good luck man... I don't envy you. Apologies for the image quality. The pictures have had many adventures during their journey from my WindowsXP laptop which is used exclusively for RAVE and...
