£97 for that? Maaaaan, that's CHEAP. Seriously it's between 1/2 and 1/3rd of what we would pay here for a similar spec battery, and yeah..... 1/5th the price of what we would pay by the time one of those is bought there and shipped out here.

I might do it on a car that would otherwise have to be scrapped..... or have a some other type of engine dropped in it (Toyota and Nissan are the usual donors out here) but to take a perfectly functioning car and convert it just for the sake of doing so is killing whatever classic or collectible...

Well if I've rigged it up manually like that I can simulate (1) the delay relay working, (2) battery disconnected entirely and (3) delay relay failed and is supplying current constantly to the ECU and driver pack. Good note on the video too! I have an old iPhone 4s that I can use to timelapse...

Actually to my dismay I just discovered that my last parts dealer crony isn't stocking P38 parts anymore so no... can't even borrow a driver pack... but there's the thing that @pwood999 said to do and I think that's definitely worth trying. Eliminate the driver pack before turning my attention...

Erm... if I disconnect the valve block connector then that's the same as disconnecting the battery, no? The valve bock will be isolated from the driver pack. But I see where you're going with this and it's a GREAT idea which I'm definitely going to do..... if I disconnect the driver pack-ECU...

That'll only tell me that there's a problem with EITHER the ECU OR the driver pack, no? Because disconnecting the valve block connector will isolate the valve block from both ECU and driver pack which is probably the same thing as disconnecting the battery. Driver pack looks fine- at least all...

Thanks... I'll check those out but I also have a possible electrical leak in the EAS driver pack which probably won't help matters. I think of all the names I've called that car, "HMS Unfixable" is probably the most appropriate. :D

Well neither did I, to be honest, until I came across this lil situation. What's visibly happening is that car goes up when there's a battery connected, car doesn't go up when there's no battery connected. That's observed fact. The rest is conjecture.

Yes. there's leakage inside the valve block when the battery's connected and no leakage inside the valve block when the battery is disconnected. What I'm trying to find is what could possibly cause that.

Sure- I get that... but SOMETHING is causing the car to rise when it's parked with the battery connected and that something isn't there when the battery's disconnected. The test you describe will test the driver pack for function, sure.... but I know the driver pack works enough to open and...
