Dunno why, but it certainly happens here. Could be a climate thing with the rubber seals and hoses and stuff..... but it happens. The owner of that car is a friend of a friend, I think. If I'm destined to fine out more, I'll share... but it certainly looks consistent with the other instances...

...... and as I struggle to get mine working again, another one bites the dust. This was a couple hours ago. This would be the brake booster bursting and spraying brake fluid all over the hot exhaust manifold. Very common on the v8s out here. If memory serves, I think this makes 6 or 7 cars...

Finally made a start on the sunroof while waiting to figure out where my new driver board is going to come from. Note well- those 3D printed sunroof guides you can buy off ebay aren't plug and play. They're a tad too snug in the sunroof rails (could just be the burrs that need to be sanded off)...

Thanks man! Yes, definitely looking at alternatives now

Actually I just realised it- it says "Frequently in stock" and not "In stock". You could be right. https://www.johncraddockltd.co.uk/anr3900-p38-aur-suspension-driver-box.html Poop. Good job the airlines and airpsrings are in good shape.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Spent the day staring at mine riding on its schrader valves while John Craddock continues to process my driver board order. Any ideas if all mail order parts stores are locked down? I ask because other stuff I've ordered have shipped but John Craddock is still processing. It's been 2 weeks now...

If he's got corrosion on his OBD port I don't see how replacing it can be avoided. Has anybody ever had a corroded signal wire or connector that they didn't end up having to change?

..... or maybe get another socket off ebay, cut off the corroded wires and solder on new wires to the car's harness cover with heat shrink and lead those to the new socket?

Oooo this is a new one on me. Hope somebody comes up with a better suggestion but all I can think of is some 1200 grit sandpaper on the contacts followed by another good squirt of contact cleaner?

    P38A Coil to EAS Restoration

Sorry to hear that man. I think that's probably the only circumstance under which I'd sell mine- when I can't look after it anymore and find someone who can keep it going, and sort of preserve the legacy, I guess. In that respect it looks like you may have found a good custodian in @jpor...

    P38A Coil to EAS Restoration

I'm happy for you man... but sad for @Dopey. You put so much of yourself into the car over the time you own it, it becomes a part of you. I don't know if I'll ever be able to part with mine even though by any logical analysis I should have gotten rid of it several times over by now.... sold onto...

Quite a wrench, huh? I have no idea how I'll deal with finally selling mine. Hang in there man... think happy thoughts of L405s

Wow... you got sharp eyes! I didn't even notice the cable tied steel bar until you mentioned it. I know Classic prices are on the way up and that IS an Overfinch, but £15k for that is a heck of a premium, no?

Shame the listing didn't include the phrase "Lovely runner". That would have made it a home run.

    Evoque Thoughts

Reasonable? I thought I was utterly brutal! My hands are still trembling from typing all that! Actually I've worked out, that if you bought 2 sets of "RANGE ROVER" lettering- 2 for the front and 2 for the back, you can arrange them to say "GRAVE ERROR".... which is what I'm going to do with...

    Evoque Thoughts

Thoughts? I try very hard not to think about Evoques, actually.... but like everybody else, I have an opinion... and the other thing too. If they'd named it ANYTHING else, I'd probably be quite enthusiastic about the Evoque, warts and all, but here is something which wears a badge it doesn't...

    P38A How does....

Nuts...... need to stock up on the leathercare products and be careful how I plant my arse on there from now on, then.

I think reading it off the cigarette lighter is fine. I've actually got a thingy which tells me the state of my alternator and battery by poking it into the cigarette lighter socket so I'm sure that'll work.
