    Torque Problems

If you read my thread, the fuel pump failed on ours just before the problem occurred, although it was, undoubtedly, a complete coincidence. I even suspected a faulty replacement pump as well. Try freeing the waste-gate, then if that doesn't work replacing the boost modulator, it's only...

    Torque Problems

Here is my post when I had a similar issue: - http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/td5-lack-power-under-load-186699.html Like I say, after worries about the auto 'box, it was a sticking waste-gate that took just a squirt of WD40 and a wiggle with some grips to fix. It could also have been...

    Torque Problems

Turbo waste-gate sticking partly shut, causing over-boost and the engine management to cut fuel. Had it on our TD5 auto, it wouldn't go past 3000 RPM and change up unless you backed off the accelerator.

    rear chassis rust

I have just spent the weekend working on the chassis on our TD5. Gave the whole thing a good clean up with wire brushes and sanding discs, from the front radius arm mountings all the way to the back. Found four areas where the rust went right through, one on each side on the bottom of...

    fuel pump

I don't see why you need to cut the carpet, I did ours without resorting to the Stanley knife, and I know another chap who has too. You do need to remove the carpet trim just inside the rear door, one of the boot mounted seats and the rigid plastic panel behind though.

    EGR gone

Blimey! They should only be tightened to 140Nm.

    Air suspension problem.

Got the front shocks fitted during the week, and did the EGR by-pass kit yesterday evening. All seems to be well, the whole car feels much more up-together, the ride is noticeable improved and the steering feels less wandery with the new damper.

    EGR gone

I removed the EGR on our TD5 yesterday evening. I was dreading trying to undo the two allen headed bolts on the exhaust manifold but they came out no problem at all. Quite a lot of crap in the EGR valve but not as bad as some I have seen pictures of. It's a 2000 model, so no CAT fitted...

    How many litres of Waxoyl...............?

I find that the Dinitrol products are far superior to Waxoyl.

    Air suspension problem.

I have to say the air suspension does seem to be quite a simple system and, the pump aside, the parts are quite reasonably priced. The air springs were only £55-00 each and the height sensors are available from about £20-00. I think if you carry any weight (including seven passengers)...

    Air suspension problem.

So the SLS system is good.... but you're going to take it out anyway?!!

    Air suspension problem.

I got the air springs fitted yesterday, and I have to say it was a far easier job than I thought it would be. It took me a few hours in total but mostly because I also changed the rear shocks, cleaned off the area of chassis behind the air springs, applied Kurust and 2 coats of underseal...

    Air suspension problem.

Just ordered the parts from Island 4x4. Their air springs were about the same price as Paddocks but I also wanted a set of 4 Britpart gas shocks and they were cheaper for these. They also do Brit Part ride height sensors for £23-00 + VAT, although I haven't ordered these at the moment.

    Air suspension problem.

Thanks for the information chaps. The bags re-sealing themselves seems to explain what has been happening and I didn't think it could be the sensors otherwise it would still play up when it was running. It's been messing about again today so I have taken it off the road for now. Will probably...

    Air suspension problem.

Could be. But where does it bleed off the air?

    Air suspension problem.

The air suspension on the rear of our Discovery seems to be behaving strangely. When we first got it about about 6 years ago the o/s/r air spring failed and was replaced by a local specialist. My wife used the car quite a lot yesterday and when I went to go out in it this morning the...

    Wastegate modular

That's exactly what our auto was doing. I replaced the MAF sensor, then the modulator, and was beginning to think it was a gearbox fault, so I took it to Keith Gott Landrovers and they just freed off the wastegate. That was about 2 years ago and was fine until it did the same thing again...

    Wastegate modular

If it's over-boosting, before you change the modulator check that the wastegate is free. Give it a good squirt of Duck Oil and work it backwards and forwards with a pair of grips.

    auto gearbox delay

Have you checked the gearbox oil with the engine running and the box in neutral?

    Disco Woes

Have you got power to the fuel pump and is it running? When the old pump failed it could well have blown a fuse.
