The beauty of RR ownership is nothing can't be fixed, so don't feel disheartened and once it's fixed you add value.

Unfortunately that tends to be the case with most things these days, a lot of peeps with no scruples or pride. I like to sell my cars in better condition then when I bought them or clarity if there was an issue I couldn't fix. My Wife gets fed up as the only time our cars are in full working...

I would start with checking your battery and charging system, if that is OK then service the gearbox. It is worth investing in some diagnostics equipment.
