    P38 DSE stop solenoid bypass!

Corrosion in the footwell connector block, took it a part and soldered new contacts, no electrical issues, alarm/immobiliser or EKA problems.

    P38 DSE stop solenoid bypass!

If that is the twist fitting under the inlet manifold, then yes?

    L322 Light control module

Thanks for heads up on mileage, not sure why manufacturers have to make life so complicated?

    P38 DSE stop solenoid bypass!

Hi Peeps! My long term project P38 is being a pig. Continuing issue with crank no start, it was running fine and then one day... nope! No glow plugs light on dash, no lift pump and no diagnostic connection? I have checked and rechecked wiring and cleaned up footwell loom, tried good fuse box and...

    L322 Light control module

Hi Peeps! My 02 L322 has started doing weird stuff with it's lights.... headlights and rear lights staying on after ignition being switched off, have disconnected battery to save it running flat. No indicators. If I reconnect battery the car is fine until I switch it off and then a few minutes...

L322 Fuel pipes on the fuel pump 4.4 petrol wont come off

Mine needed a fair amount of pulling to release them. I was worried about breaking the clips but found jiggle and firm pull gets them off, think I just pushed in with my fingers? Did filter under passenger rear at the same time.

P38 2.5 dse in tank fuel pump

Wouldn't expect anything else on these, the rear bumper supports have rotted away on this one so I don't hold out much hope for anything metal under the floor. I wouldn't be surprised if rotten connectors is the reason for high amount of air in the line plus a knackered pump? Think I will take a...

P38 2.5 dse in tank fuel pump

There is air in the fuel line, I had gone there to crack an injector etc.. but after testing nada from tank pump. The chap assures me there were no leaks when driven to it's resting place and his tale of woe point towards the pump failing... just a bit concerned about the amount of air in the line?

P38 2.5 dse in tank fuel pump

Just had a look on evilbay and they show cheap FACET pumps are OK for petrol or diesel, answers that question. No reason that it wouldn't draw from the tank through the knackered pump?

P38 2.5 dse in tank fuel pump

Is there any different between petrol and diesel pumps, only say that because I have a few spare pumps out of petrol vehicles, would have thought the flow rate wasn't that different unless using at minus degrees?

P38 2.5 dse in tank fuel pump

Thanks Ratae for the link, it's the pump inside the housing/sender unit which I need to cross reference, did my L322 with BMW pump as it was a lot cheaper than buying LR OE or complete unit.

P38 2.5 dse in tank fuel pump

Yep, does look a bit of a t&*t to do.... drop tank or tin opener from the top and hope the connectors aren't rusted out! I might jerry rig an external as it's just to move a parts car. Still helping a chap out with his LR fleet... when I say fleet, I mean he has about 20+ cars... P38, Disco 2...

P38 2.5 dse in tank fuel pump

Hi all! Looking to change faulty in-tank pump.... not the housing! Did this on my L322 with a BMW pump, can anyone give me a part number or BMW model that uses the same pump, pump only not complete assembly. Ta mucho.

    Early P38 EKA code input?

Hi Datatek, He has hawkeye but I said it probably wasn't any use if becm is locked out... possibly a send away job? I saw a post few years back which gave EKA process as initially clockwise in the door lock to inform becm of the owner's futile attempts? It doesn't help that the chap left keys in...

    Early P38 EKA code input?

Hi all! Trying to help a friend out with his 1995 poverty spec 2.5 diesel P38. He left it for a while with the battery off and now has the dreaded "lockout" on dash. He has watched Youtube vids on using the EKA code etc.. but I have a feeling the process is slightly different on early P38? Can...

Back to my non starting P38 2.5 DSE... the saga continues!

Your right... diodes. Pulled the box a part from the car and that looks fine, was hoping to find similar damage. With the box out I will do some continuity testing on the loom to BECM tomorrow.

Back to my non starting P38 2.5 DSE... the saga continues!

Soooo... carried out residence testing on spare fuse box and had mixed success so decided to split box open and found a very burnt capacitor! Next job will be to repair once I find the capacitor size. I could get another fuse box but it is always a gamble with second hand parts. Not sure if this...

Back to my non starting P38 2.5 DSE... the saga continues!

Maxi is fine, going to have a crawl under the car when it stops raining... not expecting to find any wiring as it seems to run either straight into the bulkhead or a long the top past the injectors etc.. Had similar issue on a Shogun... rodents had chewed through wiring down the side of the engine.

Back to my non starting P38 2.5 DSE... the saga continues!

My maxi fuse is fine and has power. I will use the spare engine compartment fuse box to do some continuity testing to work out what goes where. Should be able to then trace the "message wiring" and OBD2 wiring... it's strange that the OBD port is getting some power but it doesn't show power at...
