    To busy to check it out apparently just told me to book it in for a HG change, so I have sent away for some gear to test it myself. The bloke I first spoke to seems absolutely certain it’s the liners based on the fact pressure remains in the expansion tank after it has stood for two or three days.

    Not at the moment, need one that can do the D2 as well as a P38 which is currently a 4.6 but could become a 2.5 or similar, life’s a tad confusing ATM-;

    Going for the d2, really fancied a d3 but the problems frequently mentioned on here and elsewhere convinced me to keep it simple, 78k with an immaculate chassis should see me out

    Cheers, will give them a bell, the local ‘Land Rover specialists’ have said it’s a head gasket problem without even looking at it. But they are the same company that knacked my freelander so haven’t got much faith in them.

    Loses about half a litre of water of water every thirty/forty miles, can’t find any leaks, no damp carpets, oil is fine exhaust is fine, running perfectly except got this continuous leak, but it means I can’t go very far without the fear of serious overheating?

    Oh aye, I’d love another D1 300tdi my last one went 20 years without any serious mechanical problems but rust got it in the end, I’m hoping the 2 I’m getting next week will be similarly reliable.

    V8 developments ? Bought it 5 years ago and it was flawless but after my wife took Ill it was hardly used for about 3 years, she found it difficult climbing in and out, but since she got better and we started using it again it started to develop problems, headliner started to sag, EAS needed...

    m51? Once the v8 is out it will remain out unfortunately, I’m beyond complicated mechanical work and will need to have the work done by someone competent and experienced, I thought ECU was something to do with Brexitif it’s not NA I’m lost. Just trying to establish what diesel to fit.

    P38A 2.5 diesel- want one but scared!

    Bought one a couple of years ago absolutely mint, 63 genuine miles and FSH but it looks like the engine liners are knackered after less than 5k.just spent a wad on getting the EAS refurbished a month before. Having a few more checks to make sure it is the linings and if it is? then will defy...
