    bull bars

Light guards wont do anything with regards to the amount of protection a bull bar (decent made one) gives. If you think a vehicle was more damaged by having a bull bar , imagine how an ali wing would bend with tha same force applied that bent the bull bar . I have hit enough "fauna" in...

    Lights, anyone rate these ?

That should read "automatically when selecting dip" :) If they are gen cibie then should be good , I used to use the Torini Apollo by Cibie fantastic lights .

    Rear springs

A 110 CSW will have CSW springs as they were always different originally due to having a self leveler . When this was discontinued due to cost , they went to a dual rate spring . Part number check will tell you if a 2016 utility 110 has the same spring .

Scaffold tube works Ok , did it about 45 years ago on a series before you could buy such a thing in UK , don't brace it down wing back to A post , but over top of wheel opening and then dog leg down onto bottom of A post. This is a safety measure , otherwise if you have a hard contact in front...

    Morris

The Champ engine was a b 40 smallest of the B series rolls 4, 6 and 8 cylinder with a lot of component commonality . The champ as often was plagued with probs as the MOD kept upping the requirements , and caused it to get heavier and more complex , and expensive . The landrover was...

    First Landy P38 mods/plans

think better bang for buck staying with 5 , six speed would probably end up costing more than the vehicle , and an M51 even with chip would not really benefit that much from an extra gear.

    Swapping 3.5l V8 for td200???

Its not a difficult job relatively speaking , and has been covered lots on forum , weld new mounts on chassis , but there isnt much drivetrain commonality , eg exhausts , cooling , gearbox , wiring if efi .

    Morris

Their biggest problem after the susp was sorted was the steel body corrosion . They were otherwise not a bad vehicle, the diesel was a bit quicker than the landrover offering at the time . Gearboxes were prettywell bombproof. They were at about the same agricultural level as a the series

    First Landy P38 mods/plans

The yanks were pretty keen on modding p38s worth a look on some of their forums , Ashcroft do a bearing box mod for the r380 . It works well behind the 3ltr(remapped)TDI BMW in my110

The DVLA want images of my land rover to update their records?

The vin will include some details of the type of land-rover it is , and as long as the pics corroborate that it will probably end there , if not then it may go on a bit longer . It may also be there is a conflict of ID and thats why they want more detail . You might end up getting a VIC from...

Series 3 Bought an old chassis and now got a letter from DVLA

Look at it as two stages stage 1 if its a new replacement chassis ( that is not an old refurbished chassis which has already had a number stamped into it) you need to have receipt for it as new part . You then need to destroy the old chassis , I took pics and cut out the part with original vin...
