    P38A ABS / TC lights, 'sticky' ?

Okay, after a couple of hours of checking continuity on each pin, checking earths and so on... It was the pressure switch. Took about 20 minutes to swap out, problem solved.

    P38A My first EAS Fun

There's a rubber seal around the connector end, and the rest of the enclosure is one piece of metal...wouldn't be surprised if it's completely airtight once assembled

    P38A 2001 4.6L oil leak

Before I start, I know these engines are renowned for leaking oil, so I'm not panicking, just after some advice on whether it's an immediate issue or something I can sort over summer when it's easier to get time! So my engine has started leaking oil, it goes from around the full mark on the...

    P38A Rear o/s door won't open...

For anyone else contemplating this you can't start at the bottom like you would if the door was open as there's no space to get leverage from underneath. I started at the top, there's enough give in the door card to 'persuade' the metal bit to come over the lip of the door, then you can push the...

    P38A Rear o/s door won't open...

Update: You can remove the rear door card with the door shut, with a little persuasion. Removing the door card and slicing through the foam allows access to the cable for the latch motor. Applying 12v to the wires did nothing for either polarity. Breaking the motor off the latch allows you...

    P38A ABS / TC lights, 'sticky' ?

That plug has a metal clip on it which looks like a bit of a pain to get at since the cables for my LPG installation run over the ABS pump....so I'll give it a go once I have a few hours, in daylight with the car on a drive.

Just rich enough to drive a 20 year old mobile oil leak :D

    P38A ABS / TC lights, 'sticky' ?

Yeah, I don't have a lot of free time, or access to a drive / garage so the only way I can do anything on the car is by arranging an afternoon in advance to go over to my dad's and put it on his drive. The upshot of that is I'd rather spend £70 and have more chance of sorting the issue in one...

    P38A Heater core O-ring replacement

My LPG setup has 2 vaporisers, one each side of the engine ...no idea why, it was like that when I bought the car. I'll take another look at the pipework, and see if I can work out exactly where the leak is. Thanks all!

    P38A Heater core O-ring replacement

Hmm, it does have LPG, but I've been round all the pipes and they all seem solid. Does the heater matrix have coolant circulating through it when it's not heating anything? I've only noticed the leak since the cold weather has kicked in, but that might just be coincidence

    P38A Heater core O-ring replacement

Hi all, to add on to my ABS pressure switch failing and my rear door latch failing I now suspect my O-rings are on their way out due to a slow coolant leak and a wet carpet on the drivers (right hand) side. However, I notice when I remove the right hand panel on my centre console someone has...

    P38A ABS / TC lights, 'sticky' ?

Cheapest I can find the Saab equivalent for is £150ish: https://www.saabits.com/all/saab-900-9000-abs-brake-pressure-sensor?cPath=73_110_117&zenid=hjlkapuel53lc1k7sgkui5j0k5 I picked up a used pump & switch for £70, as long as the switch works I got a spare pump out of the deal.

    P38A ABS / TC lights, 'sticky' ?

Okay, according to the diagnostics I have a 'pump pressure switch fault' So, is that this doohickey? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Rover-P38-4-0-4-6-ABS-pressure-monitor-switch-1995-1996-1997-1998-2002/264104988645 Anything I should do before assuming it's faulty and replacing it?

    P38A My first EAS Fun

Bit more info in case anyone is curious.... The delay relay picks up the 'ready to send' pulse from a serial cable plugged into the OBD connector (pin 1 OBD -> pin 3 delay relay) which causes the ECU to power cycle during the serial initialisation, which puts it into 'diagnostic mode'. If you...

Oh dear wet left hand carpet

I've literally just had this with mine! Thanks to the fine folk on this forum I tracked it down. First off take the air con inlet filter off the left hand side (lift the bonnet, the filter is under a cover held on with 2 screws just under the windscreen). Pull the filter out. If it's wet at the...

    P38A Rear o/s door won't open...

@martyuk where's the best / easiest place to pick up the pink & orange wires so I can apply 12v to them? Can I just unplug at the becm end and try there or is there somewhere closer to the latch end I can get them without taking loads of trim apart?
