    Classic Heart attack

o_O I have an auto Classic and yesterday it was stuck in first gear and revving like mad. Straight away I am thinking new gear box and an empty wallet. Went on the Ashcroft site and It was suggested that It could be the governor and a rebuild would be required. Went googling about and someone...

It applies to all vehicles petrol or Derv.

    Coolant header overflow

Nowhere, it just hangs there. I would suggest someone has fixed that clip to the hose in the past. If you want to you could find a convenient place to fix it to.

    3.9 overfueling

Could be your fuel pressure regulator gone bad, black plugs poor running and possibly hard to start.

    Classic fuel injector hose.

All done and connected up and no leaks. They were a bit tight to remove but I was very careful with a surgical knife. You were correct to change them all, two others were decidedly spongy and would have split soon. Thank you for the advice. Yes mine is a flapper.

    Classic fuel injector hose.

That is great thank you. I was very lucky as it split just as I started the car and sprayed petrol everywhere.

    Classic fuel injector hose.

I need to replace an injector hose from the fuel rail to the injector, the short ones. The connection at the rail is done with a screw clip but the connection at the injector does not have a clip, how is this end connected?

    Roof bars L405

I did that. I had an L322 for two weeks and took the roof nearly off driving into the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead. We had to let all the air from the tyres and have 8 people sitting in the car to get it free, I was in tears.

Classic Replacing body to chassis bushes.

You don't need to touch the springs at all they have nothing to do with lifting the body. As long as your sills are good and rear floor support, a length of timber is all you need.

    classic values.

I know that this old, but it sums up what i am talking about,. I love it.

Classic Replacing body to chassis bushes.

Don't forget to undo the seat belt mounting points from the chassis or the rear will not come up enough to get the back and side ones in. Also I released the clamp nuts from the steering shaft at the top to give more movement.

    P38A Jesus

The 4.6 I had two months when the engine overheated with a cracked block which I suspect the seller knew about. Got it replaced at Henlys main dealer in Park Royal at a cost of nearly £7000, I had the cash at the time. Did not trust it after repair so sold it at a loss part ex for a 4.0 County...

    P38A Jesus

Thank you that is very kind. I have owned two P38'S a 4.6 and a 4.0, both cost me thousands in the first 6 months of ownership. I have been very fortunate with my Classic, absolutely no rust at all. Th most I have spent on it was a gearbox and repainting in ownership of 25 years.

L322 What did you do to your l322

I get that all the time with my Classic." You will polish the paint off that" "You are always doing something with that" My Classic has seen off 11 other cars from Mercs L322 Range Rovers, P38'S and loads of others. I love my car. And I can fix anything on it. I have changed gearboxes on my...
