    Wierd EAS compressor problem . . .

Thanks Domino - I'd wondered about that - I used my battery charger for testing, assuming it was 12v @ 4amps. I've just checked it and it outputs 9.6v . . . I didn't check it using the car battery when reinstalling, and it seems to be working OK at the moment. Might do that later today if I...

    Wierd EAS compressor problem . . .

Yet another update . . . Got it back in the car, went up and down fine, went for a run, after a couple of miles, intermittent heavy vibration when pump runs. Bugger. :( Out and apart again, seems like the counterweight grub screw was maybe not accurately aligned to the flat and had allowed...

    Wierd EAS compressor problem . . .

FURTHER UPDATE - gave up trying to remove the armature from the bearing, ground off the distortion on the end of the shaft from hitting it, fiddled the brushes back to replace the end plate and put it all back together. Used a little vaseline on the seal which made it a little easier to move...

No droop here :). I can get a spanner in between the box and the wing . . . Incidentally, I find it very intriguing how threads can drift off topic into weird (spelt it correctly this time - you can't edit thread titles) and wonderful (and rude - you know who you are) areas. It's a bit like...

    Wierd EAS compressor problem . . .

Many thanks gentlemen. If I'm taking it apart again I may as well do the seals. I'll order a seal kit - any recommendation on which is the best, I seem to remember there were some that were below par. Only need the teflon seal and 2 O rings, everything else is fine & dandy. In passing, is...

    Wierd EAS compressor problem . . .

EAS is working fine, but over the last couple of days it occasionaly makes a heavy vibration when the pump runs. Sometimes it's quiet as normal then the next time it starts it rumbles so you can hear it in the car. Seems to be producing air as the car goes up and down as quickly as normal...

    help please still over heating

Possibly the water pump impeller is off the shaft, there seems to be no significant circulation of coolant . . . A Mania - try to keep the problem in one thread otherwise we'll get confused. I've had another thought - I'll put it on your other thread.

Sounds like an airlock somewhere, some P38s are easier to bleed than others, usual way is to park it facing up a hill, then carefully open the cap and 'burp' it. There are loads of threads on here - use the search facility. Have you checked that the thin pipe from the top of the rad to the...
