Freelander 1 Monroe Shocks , which ones ??

Ok, so I've decided I really do need to replace the shocks all round . However I cannot find any definitive answers regarding compatibility of Monroe gas shocks for my Td4. I've been looking around the internet for a few days now and seem to be getting more confused. Part numbers seem to...

What have you done to your Freelander today

nice! but a tyre for a back seat :D:D:D:D:eek: It lives inside the car as there's no carrier on the tailgate - there's plenty of room for it , and more besides ! All essential bits of off road racing kit, honest !

What have you done to your Freelander today

Had a cracking noise whenever I turned left. Been like it for ages. Thought it was the wishbone ball joint. Decided to do something about it and found out it was the drop link sheared clean in half. Bloody hell !! I could only imagine what could of happened if it when through the tyre at speed.

    Wider arches needed

I used that for the wide body idea I had. I cut the flat top off the spare wing that's used to bolt the wing to the car and held it against the wing on the car with the bonnet closed. The vertical inside rear of the wing plastic seems a very natural template when using this as a guide against...

    Wider arches needed

Freelander 2 test mule.(note F2 front end, wheels and exhaust) . The rear arches seem to be about right for what I'd want.

    Wider arches needed

I came across these when I was doing some research years ago. (currently on Ebay) Their website also had the same style for many vehicles including the pre-facelift Freelander in a silver/gold colour . ISTR they were damn expensive - around £400 Euros , and they never ever replied to my emails...

    Wider arches needed

That's how I started with mine. I cut the ribs out and filled the gaps. Took them to my fibreglass guy who explained it wasn't as simple as I thought. They would need to be pegged and filled to make them wider. I'd have to have them built up on the vehicle which could ruin the paintwork, plus the...

    Wider arches needed

I think the Disco type will need too much of the bodywork removing. Ok for coilsprung D-Landers with massive tyres, but not for genuine Freelanders. Even the largest tyres would look lost. Less so with the larger but "round" arches on the orange D-Lander. The wide arches on the Evoque are more...

    Wider arches needed

I looked at getting some arches made using the ones from the body kit as a sort of template. However the biggest hurdle was the bumpers. I wanted to make the arches a 1 piece item but then I would be limited to a facelift, as this is what my Freelander is. So a second set of arches would need to...

    Freelander 1 Suspension

The larger Td4 engine weighs far more than the 1.8 petrol engine and springs would be suited for the specific engine set up. So I don't think that the springs for 1.8 you have would be a good swap. You would also have to keep the current hubs, or you'll have trouble with brake callipers and ABS...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Many years ago I acquired a genuine carbon fibre intake from on of TH famous M-Sport V 6 Freelanders. It adorned my own V6 for years but before I fitted it I had a mould taken from it to produce another..this clone intake was bought off of me by Freelander Storm who had it modified into a 1...

Little late but here it is. Looks to have been made over again. It's now red and it never had that bonnet when it was orange either.

    Proffesional Bodge Required

I needed to replace my tailgate on my rally car as it came with just a fibreglass outer shell and as it was parked on the drive needed to be more secure. I picked up a shell and associated bits and Bob's. Anyway, as the other half was bored she decided to have a go.putting it all together. She's...

    Freelander 2 in Rico Rally

Yeah I caught that. I was trying to work out how long after the clip was filmed that the owner decided to ruin the look of it with that horrendous orange wrap. I'm over at Craddocks next week. I'll get a pick of it if it's there so you can all see how bad it looks now.

Important MAF information hopefully useful to all

Bought the Pierburg maf from Roverron when I upgraded my synergy a few years ago. Freelander wouldn't run at all when the Pierburg was fitted. I asked Ron who said I must have fitted it the wrong way round. Really, like I couldn't follow the simple instructions. So I decided to humour him and...

    Freelander 2 in Rico Rally

How long ago was this? The last time I saw that Freelander, probably around last October it had been wrapped in Orange and looked cheap. BTW it's usually parked outside John Craddocks. Check out the number plate. It's his son's car I do believe. I couldn't believe it when it had been wrapped...

    Freelander 1 alarm

Mine goes off at the slightest thing. A bit of wind or vibration from other cars. Done it ever since I fitted the roll cage. I have to lock it on the key every time now.
