    TD5 with Series doors

yup I've tried that and yes 5mm does seem alot for a spacer but thats after using 3mm and thinking it needs more. I've just taken the door handle of the door and tried pushing it on to the latch as if it was still attached to the door. Even by doing that the door handle would not open properly...

    TD5 with Series doors

As promised here are some photo's my theory is the door handle and latch are not close enough together but I'm right on the end of the fittings of the door handle and without cutting away a piece of the door rubber which I don't think is a good idea. Don't think I can space the door handle out...

    One tyre at a time

your not very far from the truth from the descriptions given in the ad and from the pictures I thought I was getting a wheel which matches what I already have fitted to my landy but also a usable tyre with some road legal tread. What I got was a tyre which has usable tread on the outside but on...

    Is it likely?

I'd check for a leak, I know on TD5's the seals on the glow plugs wear down and leak diesel into the oil. So when you pull out the dip stick you see your oil level going up rather than down which normally happens on landy's. not sure this happens with Disco's ?

I see were missing the point again it was not so much about cost but whether or not it was safe road wise or safe as in causing damage to the diff? Question has been answered thank

your right £150 is alot of money for a tyre but they do last along time, according to the pile of receipts I got with the landy the tyres were fitted in 2000. there very good at gripping in the mud, yet to try snow n ice so will stick with them until I see in action a cheaper tyre

Thank you Kwakerman that's all I wanted to know whether or not it was safe mechanically to change one tyre at a time. As it happens I will have enough to do two tyres per month which means that one of my current road wheels will have plenty tread on it to be used as a good spare. Thank you I did...

Are Avons any good I've been told there not worth the money wear down quick and good at blow outs on motorways. If I changed the type of tyres I'd have to do all 5 in one go. by sticking to the type I have means I can do one at a time or two if need be

Well no I cant plan 12 months ahead ( dont have crystal balls like you) did not even think I'd still be in employment a year a go as the company I work for was struggling. I can by knowing how I drive and the rate that my tyres are wearing down that I have at least 6 months wear still in them so...

nowt wrong with series doors, cost of replacing with the newer type door is way too expensive. Its just I'm no mechanic I like to potter my good friend who used to guide me and help me repair my vehicle and other things has passed away so I'm trying to figure out on my own how to get these doors...

The ones I have and wish to keep using are BF Goodridge 265/75 R16 still got some mileage on them time wise I could easily do one tyre a month and still be legal and safe. Forking out for all 4 tyres at once all one go I could not afford to do. I try to avoid getting things on credit esp as by...

Due to funds I can only afford to replace one tyre a month I own a defender td5. Local garage hinted to me that it can causes problems doing it that way. Are they correct or are they just trying to squeeze more money out of me. Probably been covered many times before did do a search but what I...

    TD5 with Series doors

yeah the door sits flush, but I still think the handle/lock is not far enough in. It appears to be really gripping the 'pin' on the latch so tight that it wont release without a fight or the aid of a screwdriver to help guide the pin over the latch pin. Through experimentation I think there need...

Can you tell me if you have anything between the door handle and the door. I have the door catch as far forward as I can without cutting the rubber away on the door seals. I have washers in-between the door handle and the door but I'm at the max the bolts The door shuts and locks if you...
