    Handbrake question

Hi all My P39 passed it's MOT recently, however, I was told that the handbrake was not holding as it should. I thought that 4WD could not be tested on a rolling brake tester. Any thoughts? thanks in advance Billy

I eventually fitted the new tyres & 18 inch wheels I got before xmas. Also checked the P38 over before it goes for it's MOT on Tuesday. (where the feck is the fingers crossed smiley?)

p38 has made me a better driver!

Agree with the OP. Every other week something needs attention on my P38 Diesel. Nothing too serious so far, just niggly wee jobs :D

Upgraded to 18" wheels with new tyres

The P38 was designed to have either 16" or 18" rims which would mean they are homoglated. However, they were not designed to run on 17" rims which means they are not homoglated

Upgraded to 18" wheels with new tyres

Some of you may remember that I put 17" wheels on my P38 which were wrong as they should be either 16" or 18". Anyway did a Google search for new tyres and found a link to Gumtree to a guy who was selling 18" wheels with almost new tyres for £180. That can't be right I thought, so phoned him...

    Thermostat on the blink?

I think my thermostat is fecked as well. The temp gauge on my P38 DSE hardly goes past the blue. A way to test is to take the thermostat out to see if it has closed fully then bung it a pot of boiling water to see if it opens fully. Not done mine yet of course :o

Can't afford one at the moment :( and I would need to read up on them to find out what they can & cannot do

    Noisy engine

When I left work this evening the engine on my P38 (BMW 2.5TD) seemed noisier than usual, as if the tappets needed adjusted., but was normal when I got home. Maybe I was imagining it as it was parked in front of a wall giving off an echo. Anyway, think I'll put some hydraulic valve cleaner...

Didn't know we could do that. I have a flash code reader for my Volvo S70, would that work on my P38 diesel? A copy of the codes would be appreciated and don't mind paying a little something. Billy

Hi all Where can I get the fuel connector that plugs the fuel pipe into the filter heater? I have searched the internet with no luck so far. Cheers Billy
